Making drive pins?

Just thought i would throw this question out there.

would it be possible to make this into a drive pin to use on a lathe to do shaft cleanings? just an example for McDermott cues.

thanks all.

If you want a set of "cheap" maintenance pics to use on a lathe JUST for cleanings and such, just buy you a set of joint protectors, preferablly in metal, something like these.......

Thanks all. I just cant swing the 200 for a full set at the moment so was looking for alternatives to hold me over.

$12 for the 3/8-10 lathe pin would get you by. I will be making a few more of the pointed urethane universal lathe pin drivers next week for $25. Buy a set of five lathe pins for $50 plus the universal driver for $25 and you can spin just about anything.
If that is too expensive and you plan to make money doing repairs I would suggest abandoning your plans now as you will be spending a lot more than that in the future if you go down the cue repair road. There is an old saying that goes like this: "You have to spend money to make money." And that is never more true than in cue repair and building.

Maybe, but instead of spending $14 plus on ten wood screws. I would spend the 6 to 8 dollars suppliers are asking for one cue pin. JMHO!

I'm quoting this just so you read it again. It is very good advice.
