I recently bought a Parrot cue believed to be made by Todd Elkins. I know they are out of business but does anyone know how I might be able to reach Todd to get more info on the purchase I made? Any info would be great. Also curious if anybody knows anything about the quality of these cues and who as a cuemaker they may compare to in quality. Never seen one before I purchased it but I love the cue and was doing some history investigation on the cue and maker. Thanks much.

I was good friends with Todd for a couple years and I believe he is no longer interested in the pool world.

I assume he did good work then? If I could reach him via email or something I would love to send him a picture of this cue for info. I have only read good things about him as a person. I just thought I would try to get info here. Looks like very good quality work and I am not even sure how well known they were as a company.
Depends on when the cues were made. I believe Todd was the 2nd owner of the brand and there was a third, after him.

Call Charley Fleming (Charlie's Pro Shop) outside Baltimore. He was the original owner of Parrot Cues (Richmond Va) before a huge disagreement with his partner Hodges then moving to Baltimore. He may be able to answer your questions ... or maybe able to put you in touch with Todd
Todd and Charley are the only people that will ever be allowed to work on my cues.

See them all the time here in Richmond. Older ones have the reputation of being the better hitters. Some folks don't care for the way they are balanced, but it's like any pool cue, to each his own. Materials were first class on Hodge's and Charlies'. Todd carried on from what he was taught. Post a pic. They have sold anywhere from 400-1,400 on here if I recall right. There is a crazy ivory scrimshaw one that has been for sale on here before, upwards of 5K, I think. There is a lynching scene on it.

I knew all 3 Parrot Cue Makers. There was a nice article in a Richmond, Va magazine about Parrot Cue and Todd in 2004 or early 2005. I personally own a Todd E carom cue #3 of 3 made in 2005. They did use Corian Ferrels on most of their cues.

. I did go to him for some cue work a couple years ago, on your recommendation, and it was almost worth the trip from where I started! Damn far from NVA.Charley did flawless work and was a pleasure to give $ to. If I were closer, nobody else would touch my cues either.

HA! Maybe an hour from you, but I am an hour away from you too.
I actually did fed ex a bunch of cues to FL recently, for tip work. Glad I did, they came back absolutely perfec and in record time, c/o Paul Dayton...since we are running ads!
I think that on the older cues the parrot faces one way, and on the ones Todd made they face the other way.When Todd was open he did all my repair work, as well as refinishing a couple of my cues-

I can not agree less with you about a pool player being buried with his cue being wasteful.
Presuming the family doesn't need the couple dollars that would result from selling it, burying it with the deceased is absolutely appropriate. I might even think it is better than bequeathing it to another pool player.
If you had read my post a little more carefully you would have seen that my friend was from Emporia Va-His name was Gene , and we shot a lot of pool together-I remember Frank for his posts over the years, but this was not him.
