Lizard Wrap - Layer at Seam "Lifting"

I've got a lizard wrap on a cue, and the top "layer" of the leather has lifted just slightly (and I do mean slightly) in a couple small places...enough to feel it...and it happens to be right where I hold the cue.

Is there any way to salvage this and fix this issue without rewrapping as the wrap is in great shape? I thought about using a magnifying glass, a small amount of superglue...and a lot of patience...but I'm afraid it'll leave a shiny "snail trail" along the seam if I do this...

Any ideas/suggestions?

Jason,

I can mail you a tiny siringe and if you tape on either side of the seam with pin stripe tape and put electrical tape over the top you will have a 1 inch tape area with a seam in the middle. The wrap will be protected when you carefully apply the thin CA.

Then take a round and roll the seam.

Rick

I also can send the pin stripe tape.

Many wraps are glued to the cue using Elmer's White Glue or Contact Cement. In this instance, Contact Cement doesn't sound like a good idea, as you'd have to raise the seam to get under it.
Just lay a small bead of Elmer's along the raised part, wrap it with wax paper and hold it down moderately tightly with a rubber band.
Any excess Elmer's will be easy to remove.
My 2 cents,
Gary

Thanks Rick...sent you a text. ;)

I like your idea too...except the leather isn't lifting from the wrap channel. It's almost as if the "top layer" (micro-thin) has started separating from the under layers...if that makes sense...

The layer that is lifting can be pulled back, contact cement added to both sides, let tack for about ten minutes and then press back down. This should make it like new.
