Why Match Up Fair For Money?

To me matching up fair or giving away a little of the nuts is a 50/50 win % or less. I played for money to make a profit, not break even before time or lose. I don't mean I hustled guys in wheelchairs or guys that couldn't run a few balls, but in most cases I thought I had the better of it and would profit. I played for money to win money, not break even. I never could see the point in that.

Oh I played a lot of pros getting a spot that it would take a miracle to win and 90% of the time I lost. I only played pros when I had a pocket full of money I got at the dog track knowing ahead of time who the dogs were that were in the right spot from the trainer or knowing how my dogs would run in a given race...it was like stealing. I also probably had more than a couple drinks before hand. Sometimes I made a killing doing something not too legal, so I blew a lot of it to pros I knew and liked. They weren't getting rich back in the day either. Johnnyt

I have done it both ways because I want to play, so if I walk in and the only guy there to play is a guy that I don't have the dead nuts with..., I'm more than likely going to play anyway and that can become a habit....,

The game has to 'look' fair, it rarely is.The art of matching up is to make the other player think he has the 'edge', when actually, you do. Most games are won before you hit the first ball. Gambling at pool is usually an 'illusion'.

I agree that he/she must think they have a little edge at least or there wouldn't be hardly anybody playing for money. Johnnyt
