I'm thinking about buying a high end Lambros..... BUT I've never hit with one! I'm over dropping 3k on up for a cue only to be disappointed on how they play. SO....

I'm interested in renting someone's newer Lambros which has one of his LD shafts. Let the cue be simple, like a Merry Widow.

I'm willing to put up a deposit.

PM me.

Thanks

Seriously? Really? You're not serious? Who in their right mind is gonna send you their $3K cue to play with ...and possibly scratch, gauge, scrape, lost in mail, the possibilities are endless....

If you have nobody in your local pool room or league that does not have a Lambros I would guess you are SOL.... but you got gumption, I like gumption :)

Rj- re-read the post. He asking for a plain Jane to try. He is also a good guy too. I would not hesitate to send him mine but I use it daily.

Regardless, his plain janes still cost a pretty penny.... and you'd have to be nuts to send a cue to somebody... hell, I don't even like sending my cues in the mail, let alone send one to a guy I met on a pool forum.....I don't like folks shooting with my cue when they're standing next to me, I mean, I'll let someone take a few shots, but then I want it back now...

I guess it's just me... I can't think many folks would even consider this...but maybe I'm wrong... again :)

That's a good idea. High end cue makers should have one or two to loan for a deposit.
For three grand that is a smart move. Always shoot with a cue before buying. After a little over a thousand your just paying for name and exotic materials.

Wow... Did you try to use "I" 10 times there? Seems like it would be difficult to squeeze in that many references to yourself in such a short post without making an effort to do so.

Luckily for the OP, he posed this inquiry to the forum, and not everyone thinks that way. Hopefully he finds what he's looking for. It's a pretty reasonable request.

To the OP, have you contacted Mr. Lambros directly? He might have something he can send you to try out. Maybe he could take your credit card number... Then he would be able to charge you for it if he doesn't get it back in the agreed upon time frame. Sounds like a fair deal... I'd like to see cue makers make a demo available like this.

OMG..... There are people who have multiple cues, people who might/will help someone as long has they feel protected. Plus I've done business on here for years and lots of folk know I'm a straight dude.

Yeah, spoke with him already. My only option for with Lambros is to buy a cheap cue, try it out, then sell it.

Maybe someone here might be able to help. If not I'm sure ill figure something out.

Have you tried, uhh, Cheapcues or something on here, the one that's over on TV highway or so? How about the old owner of Billiards n Barstools? I can't even remember what my friends use, but ill ask around on Thursday. I'd do a search, but it's a pain on the phone.

Steve use to own b and b's, no Lambros cues. I've been playing pool here in PDX for years and never have known one person with one.

Sorry but hell no.. you will have to pry my lam out out of my cold dead hands. lol I play every day with it. It's like pounding nails in a wall and I don't even play with the laminated shafts. They regular shafts play just as good!

buy a used one or a new plain jane, they are extremely easy to resell. figure the couple hundred you loose is rent money.
that seems your best option.

I hear ya... I've been here a long time, and done plenty of business too, and have multiple cues... but I would not send my cue to a teammate....too many things can go wrong... it does not look like folks are lining up to help, so I can be too far off.

I sold a burton spain to a very well known dude, and collector... He didn't bring the money one day we met at Red Shoes, but he was not taking the cue until payment was rcvd.... I know I can trust him, but so many things can go wrong, that I can't do business like that... if all other folks can... great...

Hey, I was not knocking ya,,, I said ya had gumption :)

I would rather rent that Cat with the machine Gun that I've seen guys use on
there threads before.I own a Shih-Tzu but can't get the damn thing to hold a gun.

Well, it would have been a little presumptuous to say "you" or "we"

My question is why would a guy with a Bender be looking for a Lambros?

I had to sell my last Bender, (along with the rest of my collection) when i went through my divorce. I have another on order. And i'm always looking for other great playing cues, many folks on this forum really like Lambros and i've never had the pleasure.
