Now, that is funny. :D Wayne is regarded as one of the most stand-up guys in Southern California pool, known for usually giving up way too much weight to get a game. The only type of people who would bad mouth him would be poor losers or those who are ashamed of ducking him.

We both know you were ducking that day. There's nothing wrong with ducking, but there is something wrong when you blatantly try to turn it around and claim you couldn't get a game. I used to respect you for being a world class sh*t disturber, who might exaggerate some, but never stooped to outright lying.

It was a lot different many years ago. Action players were always on the hunt for fresh meat to walk through the door. There were times a guy would get 2 feet inside the room and offers for money games would be everywhere. I don't see very often anymore.

It's still that way in few places. But even then usually if you ask a guy or two who look like they can play, one of them will play some cheap.

Sorry, Wayne but you need to continue to work on that extrapolation thing we talked about. I'm not looking up anything on you. Guys are reading this thread and PMing and emailing me. What they are saying would not give you "a warm fuzzy feeling."

If I have a knack for anything it is to speak my mind. Too many people nowadays worry about being PC or walk away from confrontation. Somewhat obviously, I am not one of those.

Take a look at what is happening in this thread: several guys who are long time pool players, and who look to play for a few buck when they travel around the country, have unfavorably compared the action at one room with that in other rooms they've visited. So what happens? You get a couple of guys who will not accept an alternate view of reality. They are seemingly incapable of believing that other people can disagree with their perceptions. They cannot just say, "Sorry you didn’t get played, it happens." Instead it is the fault of the visiting player, the player is lying, the player was dodging, and on and on for over a dozen pages not realizing their antics are just creating more bad publicity for their room.

Different opinions and dissimilar experiences are what make the world go round. Someone’s reality is different than yours? Accept it and more on. No need to declare a jihad. But the weak minded can't let things so. They must drone on and on with their conspiracy theories.

Contemporary media theory says that no matter what your point of view, 31% of your audience is going to disagree with you. Doesn’t matter if you're repeating scripture, someone is not going to like it and get into your face about it. I travel around and guys are always coming up to tell me how much they’ve enjoyed my writings on the pool forums over the last 20 years, have encouraged me to write a book, asked me to sign their copies of Winning One Pocket, or given me their phone numbers to get together the next time I’m in town. Some people like how and what I write and appreciate my take on things. So on the balance it's all good.

I'm not even going to mention that on Saturday I walked into a local hall and got a $20 1p game and lost 6-3, because it would probably make them all jealous. :o

Btw, I'll be up in Maine in early October. I should be able to have a few free hours to hit some around at the lodge, ayuh. :thumbup:

In defense of Wayne, I know him a little bit. My opinion is he's a great guy and a straight shooter, both in dealing with people and on the pool table. He's a personable guy. I don't consider him to be a real motivated hustler but more of a sportsman gambler who enjoys a challenge.

In defense of Lou, people who attack him on the internet may insult, exaggerate, and bait - usually deriving from an argument and most often they don't even know the person.

Pool is our hobby and pastime - I'm sure we can find some common ground to get along.
