Grudge Match - Columbus, Ohio August 20,21

funny you should mention that -

it's geno's sphincter that just got r-e-a-l tight as bartram 3 fowled him for the win.

that's right, I said fowled.

12-6

best,
brian kc

There's not too many things more humbling in pool than being 3 fowled... Happened to me a couple days ago playing a Joe Tucker American Rotation match. I was kicking like a ... well, you know Brian. ;)

Gene played a safe and almost made the 1-ball, leaving it in a no-make position behind the 2.

Bartram gave BIH to Gene without Gene shooting.

Gene placed the CB as pictured below and thinned the 1. It didn't sell out but it wasn't all that effective.

I think Gene had a much stronger shot here with his BIH. Can you find it?

It's touchy and sneaky.

Score? I tried to log in on my iPhone but I couldn't load the video or the chat.

Touchy and sneaky like a boss.

Score is 15-8. For the record, Gene is a good player. Chris is better. Chris plays a little slower than I thought he would.

Cory - roll another ball up onto the one where Chris can't hit the one. He would be forced to open them up and give up ball in hand.

Bingo! I think that's what D_Lewis had in mind, too. Bartram would be on 2 at that point and Gene might have gotten his own 3-fowl.

Strictly speaking, that's not really a one pocket move, but it's got the flavor of one pocket thinking to it. That's an example where playing some 1P might give Gene more tools. Chris has better speed control on his 2 and 3 rail safes behind balls, also something you learn from 1P.
