"PHOENIX" Manalo making a comeback

I've only seen Manalo in a few IPT 8-ball matches on youtube, but he seemed like a monster. Fast player who steamrolled over opponents.

If he played a race to 11 with Tony Drago it would go hill-hill and last about 37 minutes.

Nice to see he's back in the game.
 
I like that he has been staying in shape for his comeback, although it is almost impossible to play at world class speed right away, after a long layoff like this, even if you are as talented as he is.

I hope that they livestream this event.

Didn't you read the whole article? His only layoff was from tournaments. He's still been playing all the time.

Of course I read the whole article. What would make you think I didn't read the whole article?

His layoff from tournaments means that it will not be likely that he will immediately be playing at world class speed. It takes a lot more than "daily practice" to play at world class speed. It takes competing.

Although I am a big fan of Marlon's it is not just because of his talent at the pool table. There is a lot more to this guy than what meets the eye.

He may not be playing tournaments, but I'm looking at where he is at. Do you really think he's not playing world class players where he is located??
 
The article didn't mention if he is playing for Bugsy now? I would assume either way he is in prime form to deliver a very strong presence in Dubai. Marlin is a superior player with
excellent mechanics so I don't think the layoff is of any concern. He should easily progress to the finals and with a little help from the pool god:D
 
His stable wouldn't send him to a world tournament if he wasn't ready for it. Johnnyt

Apparently there are others that believe Marlon can make the comeback quickly. :smile: I can only hope that he does well.
