Diamond 3-piece slate table

I am considering buying a used 9' Diamond table. all the Diamonds I can find in my price range (under $4000) are three piece slate. I have an 8' Olhausen, that plays perfect. how much difference is there between the one piece and three piece as far as playability and reliability. I am an above average player, but far from a pro. I try to have the best that I can afford.

There is no difference between the 1 piece slate vs the 3 piece other than the mechanic that sets it up...THAT'S where the difference comes into play...otherwise the 1 piece slate is stupid proof as it has no seams to line up, or come apart down the road;)

Friendly Question?

Why a one peice slate?

hmmm...well, you ever moved a 3 piece slate table fully assembled before? Think about it;) I'm sure you'll figure it out sooner or later;)

I guess my question should have been... Why would any one want to ever move a fully assembled 9' table?

You really don't get it...do you:rolleyes: Here's something for you to think about...I'd be willing to lay down a bet that Diamond could set up 100 9ft ProAm's...level and ready to play on, before you...and 4 assistants...could set up 8 GC's...level and ready to play on...and Diamond would only have to use the same amount of assistants:rolleyes:

As for moving a fully assembled 9ft Diamond ProAm....I do it all the time by myself...as in I don't have a crew of helpers...because I KNOW what I'M doing...and before you start throwing in things like..."what about upstairs or downstairs"...Diamond has 3 piece slates for table installs like that, so don't even go down that road:cool:

AND....because it's YOUR job to do so, if you choose to take on the task of moving that kind of table...afterall, you wouldn't be doing it for free...now would you?...so, it all boils down to how good of a installer/mechanic are you really?

Don't mean to snap at you, but I've spent a lot of time teaching others who at first thought the same as you do about 1 piece slates, now they all move tbem when it comes up:thumbup:
