Say you've got maybe 15 minutes up to an hour or so before you play. What do you do to get ready?

10 mins getting familiar with the table. Does it bank long or short, does it have roll, what is the speed?

5 minutes of tossing balls on the table to get in stroke.

5 minutes of long, straight in shots

5-10 minutes of banks

5 minutes of touch safety work

10-15 minutes of my problem shots. Shooting off rails, over balls, etc.

I've never had 15 minutes before a match; usually 5 minutes.

Five 3/4-table length straight-in stop shots to make sure my vision alignment is screwed on straight. Then just tossing the balls out on the table and running them out with good position. I make sure to hit a couple of banks and frozen-rail shots in the mix. I should hit a couple of break shots but I'm not sure what they'd tell me...so I rarely do.

3 sets of 5 reps - 1/2 ball hits
1 min rest
3 sets of 5 reps - straight draw
1 min rest
2 sets of 5 reps - kicks and banks
Stretch/ cool down

*its important to start out and finish with a beer shake to aid recovery and hypertrophy.

If I'm feeling extra energetic I may load my pockets with pool balls and do some squats. It can be pretty intense, especially after such a vigorous warm up but there is no gain without pain.
