use of the dblng cube

Is there a "standard" as to when the cube can be rolled over?
I believe player leaving the table can roll up to incoming player,who
Accepts the dbld bet or concedes.
I guess incoming player could dbl if he thinks he can get out and the
Other player could accept or concede.
I believe first scenario to be most common,but when it comes to talk
of gambling,all bets are off!

You can only make a cube decision when it's your turn at the table....
...and you must do so BEFORE you shoot.
That's assuming the cube is in the center or in your possession.

That's how it works at backgammon.

I've got the rules some place with my paper stuff in my pool room. This sounds right to me and I've played plenty of backgammon
