~*~ Looking for: SW knock-off ebony/purpleheart ~*~

My apologies to the OP. Chris, none of my comments were directed at you...sorry if you felt they were. If you took them that way, I am sorry.

Either Chady or Matty should be able to hook you up with a good quality SW knockoff. On ebay, there is a Dr Cheng who offers them, and you can find plenty on the Taiwan ebay site who will ship to US.

Also, www.jjcue.com has several SW style cues. Some lower priced ones by Kaiser and some 6 and 9 point models by Rhino cues.

I am sensitive to people putting down SW cues...an American made "precision billiards instrument". No production line or factory, just 3-4 folks doing things the same way they have always done. Many of you may not believe it, but I have actually owned a few cues myself, over the years. I played with a SW for a long time.

Play is a subjective thing. I have played with real Balabushka cues, too. One in particular that belonged to a good friend. I never cared for the way it played, but Jr could make the thing sing.

In all honesty, its not the car, its the driver. However, a good driver with a good car is something to behold.

I do have a China Made SW tribute available for 100.00 but it doesn't have ebony nose. If interested, I can send pics.

Well, personally, I think the playability of this particular SW cue got me into dead stroke. It plays so good...my confidence was on the high. In one match before the money, I decided to change cue to test it out and I was down 3-0. Knowing I made a mistake, I switched back to this SW and when from 0-3 down to 6 - 3 me. Edwin will probably tell you, as soon as I change back to the SW...I literally did not missed a ball until the last rack where I missed a half ball shot on the 6 to run out. Cue plays a big factor in helping you to get to dead stroke, IMHO.

Theres lots to be said about not only having confidence, but having confidence in the cue your playing with. I understand you for sure. I can't really afford a SW, but I feel very confident when playing with a Rick Howard cue........ for sure!

Sure...I have even picked up a TaiCan cue or two for customers back when I have the Pro Shop. Admittedly, it does help that one of my daughter-in-laws is from Taiwan originally...US citizen now, and I have 2 beautiful asian-american grand-daughters.
