Working with Dymondwood

Ok so im installing ferule on dymonwood shaft and it seemd brittle to me , and it snapped off , then i also noticed a hairline crack , hmm , was it something i did?, is there anything speacial i should consider when working dymonwood? it does have a diffrent smell sorta like cutting phenollic...

It is brittle.... I made a ferrule out of it and it broke in half.............

Thanxz Whammo i knew it felt weird , but my cuemaker friend told me it was me, lol , and to top it off wed night pool night a customer asked me to repair and retip cue i looked at ferulle and it was dymandwood too , ok i will try and be carefull next time and warn customer :thumbup:

The dymond wood ferrule that broke was being used on a break cue. It works well as cue parts and I have used it as butt cap and a joint cap on one cue an it has held up just fine.

It is strong... it just seems a little brittle under a big shock load...

well I wanted this to be my break shaft but im thinking now itll just be a heavy playing shaft once fixed
 
I like using 19 ounce but my dad uses 22 , last night was pool night for him he went ahead took shaft I will let u know what he thinks im betting he likes it, as for me I feel he back of my arm hurting after 15 min of using heavy cues lol!
