APA LV question

This is my second season of APA. Are there any APA events in Las Vegas where I can attend as an APA member without having to win locally?

You can buy into the APA doubles, and the minis. The NTC Singles and Teams you cannot buy into.

Thank you, that's the information I was looking for. Next year's APA Nationals in Las Vegas is in May 2014. I'm thinking May would be nicer time to visit Las Vegas than July.

If you are looking to buy into minis, MAKE SURE you are there first thing at the initial registration. All the good tourneys book up in a couple of hours

Henry...The singles nationals are the first of May. The team nationals, which is a much bigger event, are not until August!

Scott,

August and July in Las Vegas is too hot for me. :-) That's why I'm looking at APA singles in May.

BTW, this is my second time in APA league after a 2 year hiatus. I was able to start with my previous handicap (SL3) and finally got raised to SL 5 two weeks ago. I'm still holding my own after two matches. Regrettably, I'm still a SL3 in 9-ball, so haven't been doing well enough there.

I've gone out to Las Vegas in August for the team event for the last 9 years in a row just to shoot in the minis. I've never been there with any of my teams nor do I really want to. I like it better going out on my own and making a nice week long vacation out of it. I play in as many minis as I can and I usually can make enough to pay for my week out there. It's a great time and the APA does a good job with everything. I've met many friends from different parts of the country and it's always nice to see them all again every year. I did qualify for the Singles Championships next May by recently winning my local Regional event in 9 ball so this will be the first time I will be there at a time other than August. Looking forward to it.

You might want to think about finding an ACS league to play in. Their Nationals are in May at the Tropicana. Don't have to win a qualifier to enter. Just play 8 weeks in a sanctioned ACS league and go play in Vegas! Been playing in an ACS league since it began about ten years ago. Rules are closer to BCAPL than APA. Great people. Great event.
