looking to buy a table part 2

I found another table on craigslist that, by the picture, has potential. Again, it's disassembled (don't like) I asked the owner and they ensured me it's an 8 footer. I asked how many pieces of slate, they said 2 ???

I've never heard of an 8 footer with only 2 pieces of slate? Any advice again is greatly appreciated

whether its an 8ft 9ft or 7ft, they can come in single double or triple slates. however the important thing is that you have to make sure the slate is in playing condition.

Looks like an Olhausen Monarch. It has 3 pieces of slate.

I just picked up a table today, was apart already. On the frame there was the model name and size, you can check if yours has the same markings to ID it.

So, was it a 2 piece slate?

I've played on a four piece slate.....
...it was a 9 foot carom table from the '30s.
...converted to pool.

When I was looking for a used 8.5 foot table I learned people don't know what size they have. I had to ask them to measure across from the insides of the rails and that told me the truth.

BTW there were very few tables that size, so I ended up buying new.

From what I've recently seen if anyone wants a 9' table I suggest asking the managers of local pool halls. They sometimes have 9' GC's they are not using just sitting in storage and will sell cheap.
