**SVB - wins both rotation events at Derby **

LOL, these Shanetards.

Shane can't win tournaments outside U.S.
Shanetards : " But, but it's a short race "

Shane won 3 consecutive U.S. open ( short race too ).
Shanetards : " Shane is the best in the world "

You can't have it both ways.;)

I am assuming going over the top here to make a point as no one has ever won 3 in a row.... BUT he is going for #3 in a row THIS YEAR and is currently undefeated the last 2 years. So this is were we might start to say things about SVB that can not be said about Earl or Varner or Efren or .. etc...

if the likes of Orcollo, Biado, Bustamante, Alcano, Efren, Alex, Ko Pin-Yi, Chang Jung-Lin, Wu Chia-Ching or Fu Che-Wei will not participate again in the US Open like last year, then the field wont be that tough for shane. he would easily win another US Open title.

Nearly everyone you just named was there in 2012 and who went undefeated and won? and I am not an SVB "guy"... but the fact is ... right now who is a favorite over him in any event requiring you to break the balls and run them out in order?

now when people go into mount rushmore mode and start with the better than Efren, Greenleaf, Hoppe etc... I say call me when you are old enough to vote..

I am in no way saying SVB or anyone else will easily win the US Open or any pro event like you are willing to do, but I will say none of these people posed a threat to Shane in 2012. The last six players he beat were Nick Van Den Berg, Chris Melling, Ronnie Alcano, Jose Parica, Alex Pagulayan and Dennis Orcollo....just sayin

i would not disagree, he was a monster in US Open 2012 - five Filipinos behind him and he still prevailed. the next year, Biado eliminated him in Ultimate 10-ball. it was also Biado who eliminated Shane at the top-32 in the WPA, then the guy sails through the tournament finishing 3rd after Gabica and Thorsten. then comes US Open 2013 and the top players i mentioned from PI, China and Taipei does not participate - the field was less tougher making it easier for shane to win the title. no doubt, he deserves a back-to-back title. the 2013 title was just easier for him.

I've been to Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Pakistan and a few more. I have visited most of these countries more than once and for periods greater than a few days. What SVB stated is absolutely correct and should not be understated. It is intimidating, daunting and confusing to just find a restaurant that will serve something recognizable to you. Then, try finding a SAFE method of transportation to get there. Not to mention the communication barriers.

I had buddies with me. We would muddle through the day figuring the cities out together. If I was alone, I would have been lost. Have you ever bought something having to figure out exchange rates exceeding hundreds to one? Everything is a negotiation over there. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of on every purchase.

America is a great country with outstanding and safe food. Americans can be arseholes just like everywhere else, but I bet Ko Pin Yi will have so much more hospitality offered to him in the states than SVB in Asia. Don't get me wrong, I like Asia and especially liked PI and Korea. But, the cultures cannot be compared.

Shane needs a traveling companion that knows the ropes when he travels. Someone he can trust and knows the culture and the language. If he could do this, he would crush the competition "Over There" too.

This is partly what is missing in international Pool Events.
I guy like SVB should be met at the airport by a hospitality Host from the event he is going to play in. The Host should have traveling arrangements made to the hotel along with information needed for suitable meals.

There is a lot more to SVB's game than just his break.
Having said that, it is Shane's break that sets him apart from the other elite players.
