I think you are gambling on how this mystery cue is going to hit.
If I buy your Cog, I would let you buy it back for the same price if the mystery cue plays like crap.

I guessing the cue will either be a JMW or Owen cue.....you can't do wrong with either.

This has been my challenge is finding the right shaft for any custom cue I have owned. Current player I had 2 shafts made out of z2 blanks.

Anytime you buy a cue sight unseen,you're gambling, no matter how stellar the seller's rep. Especially here,where he has no idea what he's getting. He may get it and not like it,leaving him to sell it and try to recoup the costs.
