I finally broke out of my slump. I hadn't won a league match in a month and a half. Practiced great and played well for at least part of my matches but always seemed to fall apart. I finally put together a full match and played very well. I think I only missed three or so shots that I should have made and scratched once through the whole thing and my shape was dead on through out.
About 1/2 way though USAPL Masters 10 Ball spring session, my son and I are on the same team and are #1 and #4 ranked in "Top Shooter" out of over 30 players, although that counts total points not just how well you play in the rank so if you play every week you can overtake better players that don't.
As a team we are 5-3, in 4th place out of 9, with about 1% point separating 3,4,5 rank teams.
I have 6 wins in 8 matches, my son has 6 wins in 9. 1 - 3 - 1 is break and run - win by shutout - run out first turn after miss or dry break

Nice job my man! So far this session just one match where I played like crap. Last week I played a 4 and won hill hill. She won 1 game in 1 inning lol...how brutal! I hit my 200 match mark in 8 ball
. Nine ball is going as planned as well. I got a chance on top gun in 8 ball, but there are still 6-7 weeks left so plenty of time for me to maybe screw it up lol.Attachments

I wanted to also mention how SLOW Jennifer plays. I watched much of her match against Jia Li on Saturday at the Expo. We sat and watched the first 5 racks...which took over an hour...left to walk around for a while and came back and ended up leaving before their match was even done. 2.5 hours to play a race to 10. Was unbearable.

Jennfier B and Borana A's streamed match was something like 2.5 hours. Shane playing his match was a little over an hour.
Went "full Spimp" last night at our 8-ball match. "You never go full Spimp"
Our 8-ball team blows, we are in last place by one point and a solid 50 points behind first place. I arrived right before the match started. BS'd with some guys about the JB/Lou match and started hitting balls. The SL3's/4's on our team were just sitting around watching me hit balls. One of the 3's asked me if I wanted to play a game before our match; I accepted. Broke and ran out, told'em good game and went to hit balls on another table. To me warming up has nothing to do with playing someone. They got a little annoyed at that, but when half of the team is in the negative and we are in last place, their opinions don't matter to me. It's a crappy way, looking at it like that.
Anyway, they put up a strong 4 and my captain decided to put me up. That's when I went, "full Spimp." DESTROY DESTROY DESTROY! Broke and ran out the first rack. Broke, ran 4 balls, played jam up. Got BIH and ran out. Third game I broke dry, he ran some and got a lucky roll, I played a kick safe and he got out. He broke and the cueball went into orbit (It amuses me, when people are losing, they think they need to power through the rack to win lol). I ran a few and played safes in the last two for a 4-1 win.
We have a 9-ball match tonight, I'm hoping I can keep the same mentality.

I didn't play this week, we have three 5's so one of us needs to sit out if we play our 7. No big deal, I think I played 6 out of the first 7 weeks. We are in first place, lost our first two matches 0-3, and still managed to get back to win 7-6. Judging by what I heard about the second place teams results for the night, I think we are still in first.
Funny thing is afterwards, we go out for a few more drinks. Shooting this shit with guys from the team we play next week, and they all want to play me! I'm one of the few players left after 8 weeks that is undefeated for the session. Now they're fighting each other to get at little old me I've had a good run this session, but I'm in no way at the top of the food chain among the 5's in our division, so this whole thing amuses me greatly. I can play with any of them, but most are very tough matches for me.
Next week will be fun. Usually I have an idea who I want to try and play, both as a good match up for me, and what is good for my team. This coming week, I have no idea. This needs a lot of love :thumbup:. Nothing wrong with going full Spimp as long as it is a respectable Spimp. When I go in full destroy mode it's a confident mode, not cocky in any way to my opponent keep in mind. I am very humble when it comes to playing matches...confident but humble. In a sandbagging league let me tell you it can be beyond brutal playing people who are 1-2 levels under what they truly shoot, as well as spotting game(s) to them. I hate playing 3s and 4s who shoot about 5 level pool. Like I mentioned I played a 4 last week who won a game in 1 inning so I barely won 5-1. I don't think she is a 5 and the table was pretty open, but still it is hard to fade that sometimes! Tomorrow we play one of the better teams, let's see if I can stay in front in top gun! I had 2 nine ball breaks last week, but have not been able to duplicate or beat my 5 point break (yet) TBD...let's GOOO!!!!
Twas sheer confidence! I'm tired of being cocky to league players lol. There's really no point and nothing comes good of it. I shook his hand when we started, I shook his hand when it ended. When the guy did get to shoot, he shot well, but I can tell he isn't gonna bump up levels anytime soon.
I'm on a mission for a 6 point break. I just had some Samsara tips put on my break shafts. I'll be zinging whitey all over the place tonight!
Same here....5 point break made me hungry for a 6 point break. I don't have an overpowering break, but occasionally I can make em fly. I literally was about an inch off from 3 nine ball breaks last week lol. After the second one I started to go for it a bit more so probably the form wasn't the best. I still need to get 3 more shots in for 8 and 9 ball...I don't think our team has any shot in 9 ball so our focus will be to try to win points in 8 ball since we are in 2nd place with 7 weeks to go. It should make for an interesting finish.
Playing 8 ball last night, I had a 6 put a 3 pack on me out of the gate. At least the fourth game took him 3 innings.:grin-square:

Sounds like either someone was playing out of their mind or was one handicap below what they should be. Tough match!

We won our APA 8Ball match last night 12-2
Won all 5 matches handily which we needed to climb out of the division basement and keep our qualification eligibility for the States in June. I played another SL6 who I've been wanting to play for months. He just turned a 6 a few weeks ago and is a loud mouth a**hole. He was on our team for a while but was kicked off of it just before I came on the team so the guys on our team are always gunning for him. I beat him 5-1 and made staying until 1am a little more bearable. Didn't quite go full Spimp myself, but close.
That's what I was thinking.
A 3-pack is 3 Break and Runs in a row. I know of 7's that can't do it. I can probably get a 2-pack if you put me on a gold crown with buckets, but even then... That's pushing it.
Yep. I broke about 50 racks with them on the Diamond Pro-Am, when we were testing them out. I really like them! I had 4 pop off though, the two on my shafts, now, seem to be staying put.
