Converting from Snooker to Pool

Mindful of the fact this is round 815 of the snooker vs pool debate!

I did try and search for the latest thread but simply could not find it.

It has been asserted that snooker players would find it easy to convert to pool and then dominate. Whilst researching something else I found this article with Steve Davies from 2002 during the 9 Ball World Championships in Cardiff.

Steve Davis, not a bad snooker player in his time, makes some interesting comments about snooker vs pool. I am not sure I have seen another cueman (apart from Appleton maybe?) compare the two sports:

Very nice article, a bit dated now but I like the insights he has towards the games.

His 8 ball comments are really based towards the UK 8 ball version not so much the US 8 ball that is played on the same equipment as 9 ball. Funny he states that there are no Euro players that can compete with US players and 10 years later they are all caught up. His "second generation 9 ball players" prediction was pretty spot on.

Yeah I know dated but it's interesting to hear what a top snooker player actually thinks..

Note.. At no point does he say snooker is "harder" than pool..

Thanks for the article. You should have said "Good snooker players converting to pool" big difference, those snooker players that barley make 32 breaks are in same skill level as normal pool players very poor snooker stroke and most likely quit snooker and convert, if their snooker game did not improve; in pool they might excel because their poor snooker stroke is good enough for pool, all they need is experience in running balls and lots of luck, unlike snooker luck wont help.

You have this article and the Ronnie interviews she be tried the IPT tour. I'm sure he Hendry also had insight as he seems to be willing to play all cue sports.

Ronnie as shown earlier said many of the same things as Davis.

Freddie <~~~ seemed obvious then, too
