I took a long time off from the forums.

Pool in real life was bad, I couldn't play much because of a bad back, and when I did have a game matched up, a real life pool friend who posts here wouldn't help facilitate the game. A guy who was my friend acted like he didn't have any idea who I was or how I played.

I went to the state tournament and saw 2497 people that I didn't know, and realized that leagues aren't for me.

I want to keep playing one pocket, I want to play fair games with people. I've already gone through the donation stages to much better players playing Even x 4 local players, in the hopes that others who play under that speed or around it, would offer up a semi fair game.

Maybe I need to take another 10 years off and come back to see what has happened then, but for now, I will be open to anyone around wanting to match up playing some one hole for a fair game.

Central Indiana area please.

BTW I'm glad to see a lot of the posters haven't left, and are still around.

Welcome back!
As you know , you are already at a disadvantage because you want to play and enjoy it , while most people seem to want to make a few dollars and pump their ego up by winning a game that is out of line.
I even tried to join them, but it goes against everything in me to be such a coward.
I quit gambling about 13 years ago because of what I allowed to happen to me when I did gamble.
I wasn't a gracious winner or a gracious loser, and when I couldn't get my gamble fix , I was even worse.
I finally realised I was out of control and asked God to come in to my life.
I understand that not everyone feels that way, I have been there also.
All I know is that I asked for his help.
In return, I made a vow not to gamble any more.
I have made a couple of mistakes along the way, tricking myself that it was ok to play a tournament because I wouldn't win anyway .
I was wrong.
Since then I have enjoyed playing much more than I ever did when I gambled , I have fun!
I still want to win, and I play as hard as I can and try to always shoot like I am playing for the world championship.
I have had the privilege of playing many great players over the last 13 years and making FRIENDS as opposed to playing for 10 or 20 dollars and being mad at each other because someone got hustled, or because one of us shot the lights out on that day and we can never play again.
I don't know where you are at in lifes journey , but I hope this helps you or someone else , who is at that this particular crossroad.
You seem to love playing pool , I hope you don't feel the need to quit.

Thanks for the replies.

I enjoy pool, I also enjoy watching pool played.

Guess that I never thought a friend, a true friend (outside of the pool world) would do that to someone who had a chance at a fair game against a like minded player.

I sat and watched players at the State Tournament, and it was nice to see 3 people that I knew, but not knowing the other players and watching them play made me think my 8 ball barbox game might be lower ring as opposed to where it was a long time ago.

Hope your back is better buddy. I always like to see your posts. I wish I could play 1 hole I might try it real cheap at the executive, I know you play the game I don't but would like to learn it a little.

FYI - They had a 1P league at the Brickyard. Nothing scheduled just so many players and you arranged your own match just get the games in I think there were 24 payers there was some sort of handicapping system it was cheap enough and most people involved like it. GO to the room and play 2 or 3 matches at a time pretty easy, good league. I do not know when they will run that again but you would like it and would get in a lot of games.

Actually it's much worse, got my insurance yanked, so the medicine in my pump had to stop flowing. Withdrawls are a (insert worst word you can think of here)

Love to play, I'm only a phone call away. You don't live far from where I do, so whenever you want to 1 hole it up , text ACTION and I'll drop nearly everything.

Talked to your old team captain and he said hi.
You look so happy in your team picture from the state last year.

The games out there are bad for me, because they wont give up anything. You know how I play, it's next to awful and no one wants to give up a fair game. How's this for fair on my end. I played Knifley, Wampner, and another guy you know well, and the coin couldn't move around the table fast enough. I got dizzy and had to lay down after seeing the coin and Fred Astaire dance around.

I love one pocket as much as you love straight pool. Just can't find fair games. Especially since I use that crazy side rail break which everyone should see as me spotting them 4 balls from the get go LOL.
