2014 Crucible draw and format

The BBC Red Button Channel 301

BBC Coverage

One of the biggest pains of this free online stuff is that you don't find BBC coverage very often.

It isn't listed here
http://cricfree.tv/live/index.php

And it isn't listed under the sporting section here
http://www.time4tv.com/#

But there is a section for UK Channels which does list the BBC channels

Apparently the World Championship is on BBC 2
Here is the direct link
http://www.time4tv.com/2011/09/bbc-two.php

And here are the upcoming matches

Here is a full list of BBC coverage

Presumably, the red button offerings will require exploration of the other sites, with no guarantee of success for finding BBC rather than Eurosport

So lay in a 2 1/2 week supply of peanuts, popcorn and beer and settle in starting Saturday :D

Ali Carter V Xiao Guodong.

Just as the match was getting into the closing stages the TV somehow flipped to the next table & I missed the end of that match & somehow the TV channel flips over to another BBC channel @ times so it aint all plain sailing over here to take in the action !:(

Da pesky bookie

My annual rant about the bookies...
...how the hell can the Rocket be 5/4 to win?

If a player is 2/1 favorite to win every match, the odds say he'll lose
one match in three.

I'm going off on Fu to win at 40/1....

C'mon Marco... :happydance:.....I got a phone bill to pay.

They don't get it wrong too often but if he reaches the final he has to play somebody in the other half of the draw so it was worth a glance as a value bet but I hope your onto a winner my friend !

I read somewhere that Stephen Hendry had the shortest priced odds to win the World Championships back in the day at odds of 4/6 !

Ding Junhui 9 V 10 Michael Wasley

I think Ronnie has an easy draw

of all the guys on my list i see possibly beating him ( Murphy, Higgins, Selby, Trump, Junhui, Robertson) only Murphy might face him in rd 3, and Murphy is currently losing

if Junhui happens to lose, Ronnie will be in the finals easy peazy, and actually Junhui is probably the least likely from my list to beat him since Ronnie has his number and has him mentally

having said that, I guess anything short of making it to the final would be a big choke

I sat back watching the match resume at 9-8 to Ding & the commentators said he was 1/66 for the win at the start & Michael was a 20/1 chance but it was hard to tell who was ranked where in the rankings as the match closed out to a finish & well done to Michael for holding his nerves to seal the deal.

Ronnie O'Sullivan 10 V 4 Robin Hull

His draw isn't bad for sure, but easy? No.
You list 6 players that you feel are the only ones that can beat Ronnie and he
could face 3 of them in the quarter, semi and final. Undoubtledly Ding is the 2nd
favorite in this tourney and they will meet in the semi's. Losing to Ding this season
is no shame at all, even for Ronnie and even in a long race.

Obv. Ronnie is still the big favorite despite all this. He is looking serious, even though
his first match wasn't top form yet but certainly decent.

I sat back watching the match thinking Ronnie ain't in 1st gear or 2nd gear really , probably 3rd gear but he sealed the deal to get into the next round & that's always a tricky one for the defending champion to play first & get through the round.

The matches will get tougher but surely he can only play better ?

Betting Zone - Will There Be A 147 ? !

having watched all 1st round matches thus far, I could swear that Ronni was the ONLY person NOT to look worried one bit at any point

he's also shown more poise I think than I've ever seen, granted though, we'll see how that changes when the competition is stiffer, that Fin has zero chance

I'm expecting a 147 at some point

Grasshopper say...

Da bookie quotes a 147 no @ best market odds 4/7.

Da bookie quotes a 147 yes @ best market odds of 15/8.

If your having a bet best of luck !:cool::):grin-square:

I agree. Ronnie wasn't anywhere near top form and won comfortably and none of the other
players so far have really impressed (I have watched maybe 50%).

I don't think Robertson has played yet (to lazy to check) but Trump needs to up his game a notch
or two before he can start to get Ronnie worried. I certainly wouldn't bet against Ronnie at this point.

I did get a nice bet in on Doherty, he was 5.5:1 after the first session being only 4:5 behind.

everyone's struggling

pressure is tighter than ever, it's such huge money if you win and yet such a fight for a salary over a very long and grueling season for everyone but the winner

gotta say Ding's last three safety/snookers were INSANE

Is there any specific website to see the exact match times? I'm also bad at timezone converting, I never get to see a match from a start to finish due to this :(

Can somebody help me? I'm in GMT+3 - right now as I post this there is a reply of FU match which ended last night I think, watching on EUROsport 1 online.

This site has match start times expressed as UK time +1

Here is a time converter

I think this site will give the day's start time in your location.

Ronnie's on fire, takes 13 out of the last 14 frames against Murphy

hopefully he can adjust to the new tip against Hawkins and set up the best final in years

The Rocket has some time to work on his game...
...beats Murphy with a session to spare.
