Pool table spots

I seen a pool table with a clear spot, instead of the usual black spot. It was still visible, but way more cool than the black spots. My question is where does one get a clear spot for pool and billiards tables?

That sounds pretty cool. Never seen them before. I'm hoping someone will answer....I'm interested too!

I wonder if you could make your own with clear fabric tape? Just a guess but you may be able to get it at a hobby store.

Exactly, very easy to do and you can replace them any time you want for like no expense. Just as an added thing, you do need a spot on the table. Years ago in the pool room I tried just using a washer as a guide and inked spots on the cloth. I found that pretty quickly there was a hole in the cloth under the head ball from the break. I fixed this by shredding up a little cloth, mixing it with rubber cement and filling in the hole. Then put on a regular spot and never left my tables without spots again. Live and learn.

Spots & more

It is beneficial to the felt to have
a spot in the table, it helps protect
the felt. When I know I am going to be
playing a session (races) of a game
that requires hard breaks I will stack two
or even three spots on top of each other
to protect the felt. These spots do make for
a bump when a ball rolls over it but no one
has ever complained after I explain that I do
this to maintain the ease of racking tight racks.

When the spots are replaced with a single
layer its very easy to have a tight rack for
14-1 or one hole.

But no one knows if the transparent or "invisible" spot I seen is commercially made or was it something custom?

Its me, thought you were suppose to post a picture of who you are, but guess I was wrong. Are we suppose to make are avatars pointless and totally weird? But a avatar of guns and knives is OK?

I think he meant it's you grabbing your crotch ... but ... I'm just guessing that's what he was referring to.

My pic doesn't show me grabbing my crotch, have no idea where this is coming from?

No worries... the pic is fine. I think it throws folks off because when you take a "selfie" it looks a little off because you are holding the camera, and it's a close up as well. Nothing wrong with the photo... I think the big problem is we are not use to seeing young, or younger folks around these here parts ;)

Don't worry about it. Some of these old f**ks (did i say folks or didnt i) on here can't see anything without their glasses. I had to put mine on to see you were holding someone else's crotch! Oh crap....these are the ol lady's glasses. Sorry....my bad!
