Anyone see this new guy (new to me) on youtube, Rodrigo Geronimo. Watched him beat Carlo Biado and was ahead of Ronnie Alcano before I had to go. He really shoots good. Never heard of him until last night. I'm going to see if I can find some more videos of him tonight.

Lots of unknown monsters in the Philippines. Not surprising to see one person beat biado or alcano back in the Philippines.

Edgar Rodrigo Geronimo. Well known hustler in the Philippines, along the lines of Johann Chua, Jeff Ignazio and Coco Villafuerte. All of them would be world beaters over here, probably about the same speed as Dechaine or better! I can only think of one guy who would be the favorite over them (you know who) and in the PI Ignazio would take on Shane in a heartbeat. He is that good!

Jay, where do you consider pool to be a real hotspot in the world today? More gambling than tourney! They say PI has really slowed down in the gambling aspect. Or is it really just all dried up everywhere?

Wow not question your scouting report Jay.But if they are that strong why has a backer not brought them over to gamble yet?

Travel cost, difficulty of getting a visa, lack of events, no guarantee of action are just a few reasons.
Plus, there are plenty of tournaments and world-class competition in Asia right now so there is no need to go very far.
In fact, Chua and Ignacio are playing in the China Open right now.
