So I ordered from Chris (Renfro) recently. A blessing in disguise was when the order was messed up. Chris was very good at responding to emails and addressing concerns.

Anyways, Chris hooked it up with a piece of his new chalk. As far as I know I'm the only one with it. But first let's start with the tip.

I haven't gotten my med or hard in yet so I'll start with the soft.

Out of the package you might be surprised to find out they feel hard as heck. I tried pressing my fingernail in them. Nada!! Nothing like I'm used to from elk master, sniper, etc. so I must say I was a bit worried.

When I took it to the table though. It hits amazing! CB movement is great! And the concerns about the hardness are mind boggling to say the least. It literally hits like any other soft in terms of FEEL. But it's totally hard if that's possible. All in all... I'm impressed with this product! Can't wait for my medium to come in! And I might just put the hard on my break shaft as well!!

Now for the chalk.

He didn't have the labels in yet so he wrapped the chalk in some snake skin print tape. Pretty cool looking. Anyways... Here goes! OUTSTANDING JOB CHRIS!! The chalk is everything you could ask for! I put a layer on my tip and played two racks of 10 ball before a miscue! It grips like nothing I've ever seen and less mess than kamui. It's not greasy either. It's nice and dry and cool looking in white. Less mess when u wear light color shirts.

My biggest thing is grip. For some reason the slower shots, such as delicate rolls, i tend to feel the tip slip a bit and at that speed it's huge!! But this chalk I've had zero problems.

Chris is really changing the quality of pool equipment and innovating to say the least. He may have sold his soul to the devil bc I just can't imagine how any of this stuff works.

Great review. Been using a Ki-Tech Hard for almost a year now. It rocks.

Chris, put me down for some chalk.

Had the soft on my posting cue for around 3 months now. Used Kamui Black SS followed by Ultraskins soft. The Ki-Tech has proven to be a superior product. Zero mushrooming, feels great, rarely needs to be scuffed and looks like the day I put it on. I'd guess I have well over 200 hours of play and practice on that tip.

I just sent two to Mike Durbin for a new cue he is making for me. This is definitely my tip of choice. Looking forward to trying the chalk.

I just had a Ki-Tech soft put on and so far it has exceeded my expectations for a single layer tip.
I'm impressed with it so far.

OK the cat IS out of the bag... We won't be adding any dyes or coloring agents to the chalk... It's 99.8% percent pure and the formula won't stain your ferrule, shaft, cloths or the cloth on the table regardless of the color of it.... It is made from cosmetic grades of minerals similar in composition to Kamui but not the same in several respects..... The cubes will actually be cylinders.. 1" by 1"... This seems to be the size that is most comfortable in your hand and the round shape makes it easier to get the most use out of the chalk since there are no corners....

I'll call it a throw back in both of those respects... Chalk started out as white and many makers used the round design until the turn of the century... Straight sided chalk is actually easier and cheaper to package because you can use a one piece label so I am sure that was the driving factor in the change because it is was not done for ergonomics....

As far throwback is concerned it ends there... The formula is modern and the packaging is going to different than what has been done before... But those cats are staying in the bag until I have photos and pricing completed... Look for something posted here by the end of the weekend on those lines...

As far as the Ki-Techs go.. I appreciate the guys we have converted... What starts out as a better idea doesn't always end up hitting the mark... I think the Ki-Techs have hit as close to the mark as I could have hoped... With the feedback from buyers over the last 2 years we have tweaked the formulas and processes to provide what I hope everyone finds to be quality offerings in all 3 grades... Our break tips will follow shortly on the heals of the chalk and I will let everyone know when they are available...

Thanks to AZ for being so helpful in the creation of Outsville. What was a hobby is fast outgrowing my house and garage. At least according to the girlfriend. I am now occupying the garage, my dad's garage, my dining room, my mancave and kitchen. My lathe is having to go to a friends simply because there is no more room.. A few more equipment purchases and I will have to agree and rent a commercial space LOL..

As we continue to grow there will be more items under our branding.. Without the AZers that have been willing to take chances on our products that could have never happened....

I love my K-Tech Soft tip. One of the few things that I ever gotten, not just pool related, that I am totally happy with. I mean the product has NO flaws.

I don't know if it's a good idea to make rounded chalk. Too easy to put on the rail the wrong way if you are not watching it and have it roll onto the table to hit a ball. Or roll on the ground if dropped.

On the other hand, you could have a market for square chalk holder with a rounded hole for the chalk

I am 100% sold on the tips. I figure I have atleast a 2 year supply, as long as I dont get a new shaft soon.
I keep checking the website for the chalk. I also want to get some as soon as it is releasted.

Cant wait to try my Ki-Tech tips! Just ordered them Tuesday :)

I am sure I will have to try the chalk as well..

I have always thought chalk should be round and about the diameter of lipstick. That way as wears away, it is within the diameter of the tip to always allow an even coating , especially on the sides of the tip. This way, you will never get chalk onto the ferrule.
Will you at least consider an International sale to me, so I can try the chalk ?

Dang Chris, don't you know how perfect a bath tub fits a lathe? ;)

It's great to hear the rave reviews for the up and coming "little guy". Kick tail my friend.

So meaning to say the chalk's color would be white instead of blue?

not just white but...... Great-White-Shark (2).jpg

I was considering adding color to it but when I started testing it on different colors of cloth and realized it didn't leave any staining and simply brushed up I started leaning against it... Then when I realized I could actually look at my tip and tell if it needed chalk I started leaning further against it....

The people that have samples all looked at it funny but everyone of them so far has came back and said they actually preferred the white after using it.....

I like the idea of a chalk with no dye in it.
I have been having great success with Predator chalk.
But it is softer then Masters and my hands get blue and I have to clean my ferule too often. But it in my opinion it works so much better then Masters I'm willing to put up with the mess.
A high performing chalk that doesn't make a mess would be great.
But not a round shape. It can roll off and on to the table.
But if it is round I will still try it.
Hell I bought a Chevy Vega once so I'm no genius.

Chris I am waiting on the tips buddy.

Tips are done but sitting here with Blank Labels... New printer was as jacked as the one they replaced.... Will take the sheets to Staples if I have to and have them match up the artwork to the canvas since I cannot print to the edge on any of my other printers....

I haven't minded sending small orders marked by hand but if sheets go out they need to be marked properly... Let me know your stops next week and I will get them ahead of you on the road.......

LOL We already handle the tips 7 times during processing and QC.... Hand marking them has to go at some point so we'll just call yours a limited edition so it's still keeps that special feel =)
