Where to rack money ball in 9ball league

In our league rating differences translate to giving/receiving additional money ball(s).

If giving the 6, 7 or 8..where do you like to spot that single ball?

Also, if you are breaking and giving the spot, do you break differently, like how?

Doesn't happen in our league, but where would you spot multiple money balls, assuming the breaker can break from either side after he sees the racking pattern?

thanks

I rack multiple money balls either the 2nd to last row or behind the head ball. Preferably in 2nd to last row (behind the 9 ball). Never on the wings. Behind the head ball tends to go in the sides, and wings definetly go in the corner pockets. Not the last word just my experience. I move it if the player seems to have adjusted his/her break and makes a money ball on the break. Hope this helps!

In our league, the 7 and 8 go behind the 1. This is the same no matter what the difference in handicaps is or if they are playing even. FWIW the biggest spot given is 7 out and last 4.

Game ball on break does not win, spots up, keeps from having multiple shots at winning off the break with a ball spot.

Depends on the league you're in, as I'm sure you know;) If I remember right, I've played 9 on the break wins, any extras are spotted or stay down depending on whether the spot giver or the person getting the spot broke. Any thing I've played in racked extra balls behind the one. I don't remember having to give up more than two balls, but if I did they would go in the next to last row, never on the sides or in the very back. It can make a difference, I suppose, as to the break requirements, how many balls have to hit a rail, go past the side pocket, etc.

thanks for replys..

further question: He racks, he gets the 8. He puts 8 in 2nd row, behind the 1. You break.

How do you break? How hard? From where?

Fully offensive normal break, hard break, defensive controlled break?

Do you want that 8 flying near pockets, or staying put near the spot?

thanks,

or stfu and break em???;)

If I remember right, I usually broke from the same side his money ball is on, hard but with control. Read the rack according to Joe Tucker's Racking Secrets, try to make his ball if it stays down on your break.

Right, but if I was being consulted for the rules or was creating the league rules, I would suggest no money ball on break as a win. On a side note, I made the 8 on the break in league last night, which was a win, and a patch. Whohoo for random rewards for a non-skilled shot hehe. I'll call it "the Forrest Gump" award where you succeed by not knowing what you are doing.

In a gambling match if the money balls were wild (off the break or non-called), that would probably equal another 1/2 ball spot over just giving a ball up.

If you guys remember the match between OMGWTF and a guy from the forums, he gave her I think the 7. She made the 7 off the break or made it early in the game several times. Which was a mistake on his part, he may have won if he made the 7 a called shot or not counting on the break.
