OB Plus Shafts...

Shane so if I order an OB from Seyberts today it comes with an OB plus shaft?

tbay

I'll jump in for Shane as I think he's off for the rest of the day.

Currently, we are cleaning up any remaining orders for the older products. Some are shaft orders, and some are cue orders.

I would recommend you call Seyberts, or any of the other Dealers before you assume it may come one way or the other. It really depends on what is left in stock.

I hope that helps!

Royce

I've looked through this thread and i have to say that OB cues have always been a great company to deal with and i will support their products 100%!!!

They don't need to hype the products all i say to anyone is try them and see for yourself!!!!

We don't have any new models right now. We hope to soon, it just depends on when we get caught up. When we do, though, we will transition away from 2013, 2014, etc. All new cues will become part of the line up, and some may drop off as well.

thanks Royce,

Just one more off topic question, does ob has it own extension like mezz does?

Cheers

Currently we don't have one. We will pretty soon I believe, but just not yet.

I've designed it, and have the production cycle all worked out, but the issue really just comes down to time. Making a switch like we have with the shafts is a big job. We've been working on it for many months, and it's just now coming through.

Expect something in a few months maybe. We do have at least one other new item before it.

Thanks

Royce

busboy

I'm not sure that there are any out there quite yet.

The majority of our initial shipment has just gone out recently, and that was to our dealers who placed pre-orders for them. It won't be long though.

Thanks

I tried one at the BCA show in KY. It did look better and had a better hit than from the original OB shaft I tried years ago, at least from my memory.

My son also played with it for a few hours at their booth while we were there for the Jr Nationals. I'd say he liked it but it would be an understatement. He's friends with Mike Dechaine who is sponsored by OB, and got to spend a bit of time over there with them.

For the past week, every hour on the hour I would hear "so, dad, when am I getting my new OB shaft?" "I want that OB shaft" "New OB1 Plus shaft dad, please".

They OB guys also showed me the difference between the two constructions and explained things about their shafts in general, as a bonus, they had the World 9 Ball tournament running on a laptop :)

Are these going to be somewhat more "okay" to break with as long as we don't break at 20+mph?

im not too sure about ob shaft but i use my 314 to break all the time, around 17-18 mph, had a few 21-22 on my break speed app

Anyone got theirs yet? Widely available now.
I've been playing with one for about a week now and I'm pretty happy with it. However its my first ld shaft so I don't have much to compare it to. The shaft is pretty responsive and has a relatively firm hit. Anyone have other opinions?

What OB shaft you are talking about ?

Ob shaft

I received a OB Classic plus, I have played 3 league nights with it. I have several LD shafts and am now looking for buyers for them. The plus hits more like a standard shaft, I upgraded the tip have never been a fan of the Everest tips. In my opinion it plays better than the original classic mostly because of feel maybe a little less deflection. Shafts I have at this time Mezz Hy Pro 2, Mezz wd700, two Jacoby hybrids, and a standard classic partial mated by Lomax on one of his cues. My pick of the bunch is the New OB Classic plus. Just my opinion but I have played with them all from the beginning of low deflection shafts. The ones I have not mentioned are farther down my list and have been sold before now I just wondered from time to time thru the shafts I have listed. I think I have found the one to stick with also in the past I have had a couple of problem arise with OB shafts and also others but after a call to Royce and a return of the problem shaft to OB problem solve and one was some what questionable Royce call I answered the questions best I could he made it up. Ob has been wonderful to deal with. I cannot say that about one other LD company that I will not name but most that have dealt with them will know, Keep up the great work and new products coming (love the looks of the model 135) I am a fan and customer.

lol, I guess I was right when I said their shafts splinter off. I started a thread that got pretty heated. I love the ob shafts but their durability have always been suspect, hopefully this will fix that. kind of pissed off, got a new ob pro 2 days ago, didnt even know this was an option. FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCk
and I read their prices will be going up, but let me ask you guys this, why does predator charge so much for a shaft that is now made in china with inferior quality, I have a predator that is starting to look like a C, the warp is so bad it looked like a cartoon. hmmmm.........
