First Break and Run

Time for a little "look at me" self congratulation.

I've run 7 balls on a 9' but only after my opponent broke dry.

Last night, on a bar box, I broke, dropped 2 solids and 2 stripes and ran the rest of the table. First time ever.

It was an easy pattern, but it felt like I could see the layout from the beginning of the game, all the other balls almost greyed out and mine stayed in color. Boom boom boom boom boom.

Well a little melodramatic but there you have it. First round is on me.

Congrats. After your first one, many more are to come as you broke through that psychological barrier.

First rack of 9 ball I ever BnR'd was in 1992 at The Rack in Memphis, TN. I was in the Navy and had just been stationed there and went to The Rack around 1 in the afternoon. I got some balls, went up to one of the 9' Gold Crowns and racked them up. A guy was watching me from the rail. I put my Schon together and broke the balls and ran out cold.

Guy on the rail comes up as I'm racking the next rack and says " wana play some $5 nine ball?"

I do miss Memphis sometimes....

Well done. They wont suddenly start flooding into your game as some people will have you believe. It is a milestone, and one that should be celebrated, but to get further break and runs you have to keep up the hard work that got you the first. Happy shooting.

Ditto the above. Congrats. Many more!

Congratulations.

Especially on 'seeing' the run before executing it.

It will probably become easier to see the pattern(or lack of it) now that you know what to look for.

Seeing is believing.

The more tools you put in your toolbox(skills obtained through practice), the more you will believe what you see.

Good job.

take care

...thanks for the positive vibe post...we can use the balance:eek:

So true!!!

I had never broke and ran more than 1 rack in my life until last week where i broke and ran 2 in a row, broke and scratched on the third but still won the game, and then broke and ran 3 more in a row.

I'll probably never have another streak like that in my lifetime but it felt amazing...lol

Nice job Pocket!! Great feeling huh?
Like some told me on here(although it hasn't happened yet), wait until u start stringing racks together!!! Shoot straight!

Thanks everyone.

Yeah, silly I guess, but it felt pretty damned good. The look on the guys face I was playing was priceless, like, "is that even legal?" lol.

Good shooting and thanks for sharing.
can I get a Jack on the rocks??
seriously though, well done.

Well, I'd say congratulations, but now you're hooked and you'll waste a good part of your life shooting pool like the rest of us. The more racks you run, the more you want to play. See the problem?

Quit now, before it gets any worse. You'll thank me later.

BTW, if you dropped two of each on the break, that's still not a full rack. There still might be a chance for you to get out with your sanity.

Best,
Mike

Impossible to break and run without sinking a ball.
