Thanks for putting this video up. They both are very good for their age. The 12 YO has some strong stroke already. Johnnyt

So the stories are true. Those little snots could rob half of the players on AzB!

I can only imagine how many of those kids are out there. Pool is not dead, it's just dying in America.

The kids are talented, but look beyond the playing. Money is being exchanged, the guy in the purple shirt is smoking.

Is this the environment you would want to see your kids developing in?

They are also in the Philippines, not Beverly Hills.

I agree. Didn't you know the "A" in AZB's is for "A" players only. I hope both those kids got a little jelly and not too much 2nd hand smoke from the one bad person smoking. :) Johnnyt

I know where they are. That's why it saddens me. The quality of life for those kids will not be good. And by the way, you don't have to live in Beverly Hills to raise your kids in a decent way.

What a background noise that is, is the table on the road?? Geeee! No wonder Pionys do not care about table lent or noise!

Everyone is standing at the table too. Then you had "Johnny" there picking up all of the specs on the table. They were obviously making side bets on this match too.

Hey, if playing in the pool room for some cash, that could potentially feed your family, keeps them out of trouble (drugs & crime), then I am all for those kids enjoying themselves. Second hand smoke is the last thing those kids need to worry about.

You don't have to live in Beverly Hills to raise your kids right, but it's kind of tough when most families don't even have enough money to make it through the week.

100%

I agree with Dave M on this. Other countries are not like America, and some kids don't have a sliver spoon. I grew up in a pool hall and my grand father use to give me 10 an 20 dollars to pay 2 dollar a game 8 ball.
And by the way I turn out fine and am doing quit well.

I understand what you're saying Dave, but they're using those kids as race horses. If it wasn't the kids then it would be cock fights.

So what? The world isn't full of peace and happiness. Playing pool as a race horse is better than being a child in a mine or making Nike's.

By the way, the thread is about two kids that play well, not about another country's poverty.

The chalk on the rails is killing me, also might be a little claustrophobic there. However, those kids play great! Good for them.

"So what," you say? I beg to differ. Exploitation of children is never good in any culture.

the reason why i posted this video is to show how good these kids play. i hope you all enjoyed the match.
sad to say, we dont have "pool schools" here in the Philippines where kids as young as this 12-year-old could train. there is nowhere else to play pool except for places like this. do you think efren or bustamante or orcollo or alcano or any other top-caliber Filipino player went to a pool training school with fancy GC's to become the best in the world? at 12 years old, efren already had a manager who toured him around manila for money matches. he even had bigtime chinese businessmen who backed him for money. he'd earn money and give it to his mom to help the family.
as for these kids, they probably dont have xbox's or playstations to keep them from going outside and looking for something else to play with.
