Good afternoon all,

I need to buy a couple of OB1 Ferrules with the carbon pads. I need one for an old cue I am restoring (I like the wood ferrule look) and I would like to have one for backup. I did not find a way of ordering the ferrule on the website, only the carbon pads.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,
~Roy

Roy,
Call OB and tell them what you need and why.
I "think" they will help you out.

P.S. Normally, the ferrules are only available to OB certified cue repairman, but I think they're pretty accommodating if you ask,

It's cool that you want the look our ferrules provide.

However, the ferrules are not only patented, but they are also our trademark.

We do sell our laminated maple ferrules, but only with the intention of replacing or repairing one of our cue shafts that was originally equipped as such.

We ask that they not be used on other products because it's our trademark.

My recommendation would be that you choose a particular exotic hardwood that you like and use that for a ferrule. I would also recommend a carbon fiber pad between the tip and the ferrule, and we have those available on our website.

Please feel free to call us if you have any questions. 972-578-9100

Oops, my bad.
I didn't read the original post carefully enough - I simply thought the OP was repairing an old OB.
Sorry :o

My apologies Royce. It wasnt malicious and thanks for the direction of using a hardwood. I do have a 30" OB1, but you are right that this was for a maple shaft I am reconditioning.

I have thought before of using bloodwood or padauk for a red ferrule. It might just be that time. My new motor gets here this morning from midamerica (upgraded to the 1/2hp) and I have a full weekend off <grin>.
