Predator copying OB?

Is it me or does the new predator shaft look like the OB Pro. Lamination looks like OB. Using the fiber pad between tip and ferrule. It might just be me. lol. I use a predator Z2 currently.

IMHO, Predator would do well to copy the current line of shafts from OB. However, I also realize there are a large group of Predator fans, so that is a subjective statement. And to be clear, I think Predator makes an excellent product, I just happen to prefer OB.

I've been using predator shafts for five years. I definitely prefer them over OB. The new shaft is too thick for my taste, but it still looks like the OB shaft. lol

You've played extensively with the new OB+ shafts? Before I settled on OB, I bought a Predator Z2 and played with it for a month. I probably had in the range of 75 hours of play with the Z2. I preferred the previous generation of OB shafts to the Z2 and the new + shafts are a step up in my opinion. I would add however that I could have been perfectly satisfied with the Z2, it was a good shaft. I extensively evaluated a number of LD shafts, by purchasing and playing with them, before settling upon the OB. I also tried the Jacoby, SD and new Mezz. Admittedly, I didn't play as much with any of the three because it was immediately apparent I didn't like the hit/feel.

I've hit with the OB+ shafts, but i wouldn't say that I've hit extensively with them. I like the OB shafts, i'm just so used to the hit of the predator shafts that I always end up going back to them. I really like the Jacoby Hybrid shafts, also. It's kind of funny, I felt like OB was getting closer to Predator's hit with their OB+ line. Now Predator is getting closer to OB with the Vantage, lol. But I obviously have not hit with the Vantage yet.

I think they all copy each other in a way. The Mcdermott i shaft has a carbon
rod going through there shaft as well and have been for years and have a really
short ferrule.
Predator is going with the carbon fibre.
OB went with the real short ferrule at almost same length.
Jacoby hybrid- spliced there shafts like the OB1 and 2
People copy people all the time but will any of them admit it, well
thats a different story.

I've played with predator equipment for years and years. And to be honest, i think the last year or say they have changed something with the 314^2's. I think they play different, dead... So i moved to the z^2 about a year ago and found that i like it a bit more...

A couple years ago i tried the ob1 and ob2 shafts and thought they were good, but the hit was just not hard enough...

A couple months ago I purchased the new ob2+ and Pro+ shafts from OB. The ob2+ is still a not my cup of tea, however, the Pro+ is the best playing shaft i've used. Stiff, tons of play, great feel. I feel kind of gross just typing that....

I purchased blank Pro+ shafts to have rings make to fit my Bender cue.

I have a buddy who plays jam up.He uses a Predator 2 butt w an OB shaft. I asked him why and it confirmed what I have experienced using an OB shaft. He said the Predator shaft put too much english on the cue. Whereas the OB deadened his action so he had more control on the cueball. This is why I use a Predator shaft.
