First 3 US Opens in a row (4 total in under a decade), now the Masters just weeks after that. WTF did they feed this kid?

I think Sigel is the youngest player elected so far in the hall of fame, IMHO Shane should be put in to beat that.

I think size 11.

Josa Parica. If anyone should be, shouldn't he? I mean there are a lot of folks in it that aren't what he is. And I'm not even a fan for him (at all)...

Where is the hall of fame? I'd like to visit sometime. Do they have bronzed busts of the players and cool antique billiard stuff?

I used to think it was hyperbole to say that Shane could be the best player in the history of pool, but he is certainly on his way. It is hard to argue with his resume and top level of play. He played so great in the finals of the US Open. I was amazed by the level of play in that match from both players

The minimum age is 40.

That's what I thought, Bob -- that there was no age minimum for many years and that they then adopted an age 40 minimum (I forget when). But here's what the BCA website says now: "The Greatest Player category shall be reserved for outstanding players who have been active in national or international competition for at least 20 years and have won at least one national or international championship."

Do you know whether they have changed again, or does an age 40 minimum still apply in addition to the "at least 20 years" requirement?

I happen to know Shane grew up eating Taiwanese cuisine. We're talking about some really good food, almost as good as the Taiwanese food found in Taiwan.

I still don't get it

Im not going to say exactly what I was going to say, cause I know how "some" people here get.

But it still seems to amaze me the titles and prestige that people are still trying to bestow on shane. the guy is good no doubt about it but lets face it he still has a very long way to go, not just to be called "best in the world" but "best ever". Does no one remember a guy called Efren Reyes? Shane is yet to catch Earl, and Earl carries Efren's case.

Although Shane is a likely candidate to win more tournament maybe even get his 4th USO title everyone seems to be forgetting the key thing that has been mentioned A LOT lately, and that is that the rest of the world is growing just as fast as Shane is, So his World Title chances are no more better no and forget about his chances of holding "titles"

When some of you guys speak you speak as though Darren, Neils, Mika and the rests of the european players are just going to up and pickup league or something. Efren is the greatest to wield a cue and has the Global track record to back it up. But I know what it is, it's hype, no discredit to Shane but many of you love to jump on what's hot, and with shane being american he's you Lancelot. You did it with Darren, Mika and the host of Asian players when you got introduced to their game and potential.

Shane is an excellent player and has great work ethics, he works hard at being the absolute best and currently holds the title of being "One" of the most feared, but by no means is he worlds best of best ever, Earl, Archer and Efren could probably argue to that.

Shane is just as dominant now as Earl and Efren were in their prime. And no-one said anything about "best ever", I just think he should be in the HOF at a younger age than Sigel. There are a ton of players out there that can play even with each other it's pretty much impossible to list who was best ever or who is best now. You can list 10 players that can be called best in the world.

just as dominant now, yes i give you that but as many try to imply not best in the world and yes some have went on to say best every. Maybe these are young players that are not quite verse in pool and it's players but the statement has been made and on more that one occasion by more that one person. I'm not directly referring to your HOF comment but merely to the status that is bestowed upon shane. Yes he is a great player but from time to time what I see is a bit of bandwagoning at times and nut hugging at others.

You know what would be cool to see. A list of accomplishment over a 10 year period or let's say first 10 years that Efren and Archer and Earl and Shane have. Be it their first 10 to the 10 following the first major win. I think that would be cool.

I did mention "best ever". I'm not even really a fan of Shane. I am just calling it like I see it. The guy is already very accomplished at a relatively young age and seems to have undying passion for the game. His dedication is top notch. He is on his way to that lofty title of "best ever"

I know others have accomplished great things too- not degrading that, I'm just saying that Shane has been playing at a top level for quite a while now and has shown no signs of slowing down.
