inlay material

I used some Alternative Ivory from Masecraft for inlay material... it is a polyester material. It is nice to machine and finishes nice.

I use a hard slow cure epoxy for my sealer followed by a water based urethane clear coat.

It buffed out perfectly but by the next morning I could feel the inlays because they raised under the finish.

I sanded them down and refinished them and after a day, I could feel them again.

I took some of the Alternative Ivory that measured .127 in thick and put it in some water, In a few hours it measured .137 in. It swells with moisture.

I did the same thing with Juma and it never moved.

I am cutting out the inlays and replacing them with Juma.

Has anyone else experienced this?

No, I've never had that problem that I've noticed but I've only used it once or twice. Glad to know that for the future.
