APA 8 Ball Proposition Bet

Look I'd get a van and never come home again if it were this easy to get action from league players. In reality the league guys just won't bite. There's no woofing, no anything...

All I know is that if the opponent doesn't break and runout to their money over 30% on the barbox, I will get the cash. Spotting the last 3 isn't that big of a deal if I'm not missing finishing the last 4 or 5 balls.

The difference between a good league player and a shortstop big table player is huge. Spotting the break to a player is not a big handicap if they aren't getting out and have weak a safety game. It just doesn't matter.

Suck it up, chump, you aren't as good as you think you are if you are looking to gamble with APA players. Come to New Orleans. I'll point you in the direction of 40 league players that will steal from you.

There's no entertainment in that post, I can't even tell what in the heck you are talking about.

9 ball rack 8 here, then pull 9 ball run % WHAT...........
It's playing eight ball against the ghost with all 7 of your balls on the table but no blockers. Ball in hand to start. What percentage should an APA 7 win against that ghost situation?

100%, if not, then the APA needs higher handicaps.

Yes they do. I know several 7s that are B or B+ players since the ratings are based on your area. You end up in a town with a bunch of C players, as a B you will be maxed out against them. Another area or room may have some good players so you'd have to be an A to get to a 7. And if you are an A+, you are still a 7. B vs A+ is not much of a contest playing even.

I like the USAPL ratings, 30-125, a B -+ would be in the 70-100 range, An A-+ would be in the 100+ range. You don't have two "good" players the same handicap since you can have a "good" 7 and a "super good" 7.

I think the only problem I have with this is, what's an honest 7? The APA's requirements for a 7 are fairly low in the grand scheme of things. There's a whole world of amateur 8ball in the 7s category.

In my opinion, unless you've run through this exact experiment a few dozen times, you're not going to truly know your own odds. I will say this, in typical 8ball games where my opponent scratched and left me this, I win overwhelmingly and run-out the vast majority of the time but this isn't a game scenario. Since I'm breaking with only 9 balls on the table and removing one, I'm expecting an excellent spread. The only thing that's stopping me would be a poorly positioned 8ball or multiple clusters. I think 75% might be low but I can't say for sure. Seriously, I'd have to give it a whirl in practice for a few hours to truly know.

End of april in vegas they have the singles nationals. Come there and you can play 24/7 for 5 days straight if you want to give out the last three and the breaks in 9ball to apa players. I call dibs on first in line there.

Your argument was that no APA players will gamble.

I know a good half dozen in my division that would certainly be interested in your offer. Probably I could find more.

Just another pot shot at the APA. A league that isn't set up for big shot gamblers in the first place, tho there sure are some who do participate....and no, I'm not one of them (cuz I'm a typical league player, and I'm not interested in gambling what little money I have on my poor pool game).
You coming to Super Billiards in April?
Bring cash and we can test you theory for awhile.
PM me.

You know there are good shortstops who play APA right? I know an APA player who woofs at BCA players all the time because he says they think they can play.

You are probably making these statements because you only offer this game to league players who have no chance with that weight. The fact that they know it doesn't make them nits or cowards.
Any card carrying 7 has my action. I know there are what 2 higher levels in APA 9 ball. This is based of APA 7 which I am aware of their abilities. I'm an APA0...don't play it.

So did you make this thread to:

A) bash the APA?
B) conclude that you are right and we are wrong?
C) be a keyboard commando and brag about your sweet APA gambling skills?
D) make yourself look like a goof?

By the way, the offer stands. Come to New Orleans, Louisiana and I will match you up with 50 different APA SL7's that will rob you. No high skilled player hides behind their AzB username.

I went to Vegas APA 3 years back. Tried to get action giving up weight...nothing. I wanted to play the black widow a 100 dollar game of 8 ball. No joke she ducked me too. Busy getting 20 bucks for signed photos.

I ended up playing all 4 days with a very good player from Texas. We played winner break 10 ball race to 7. Winner would win by big margins like 7 to 3 or better. It was too easy to string racks. We switched to alternating breaks and the sets were all close. Valley barbox is just a toy. Guys watching us play wouldn't take big weight to play.

I played another guy 8 ball and he soft broke while playing defense. He could shoot too. Neither guy was APA. They were just there looking to steal.

You league guys all just think you are players. Left me tell you there is a food chain. An APA 7 versus an open/pro player is a rabbit.

I was there 3 years ago and never saw her without her family around.

Nothing because APA players wouldn't bet water is wet. I offer up the last 3 with all the breaks on a barbox to them and they wont play. I don't think they like money. Ain't Playing for Anything (APA).

Have you ever considered the idea that league players just don't like you and so don't want to spend any time with/near you? Your condescending attitude is totally charming (would you like to meet my sister?), but sometimes people just don't hit it off.

Singles doesn't have nearly the action of teams, which i found out this year. I'm guessing you're all bark and no bite.

???

All I know is any thread asking what happens when an APA anything bets is make believe. Thousands of players...practice room was no action. The casino was happy to scratch my gambling itch.

Maybe I was thinking of 7's in 8 ball while you were thinking of 7's in 9 ball?

You simply said APA 7. Go tell a guy like Brian Parks that he can't compete in open tournaments because he is too far down on the food chain. LOL.

Our weekly tournament has BCA masters and grandmasters playing every week. I am pretty sure I know who the "players" are.
