APA 8 Ball Proposition Bet

Singles doesn't have nearly the action of teams, which i found out this year. I'm guessing you're all bark and no bite.

More league mentality.

You don't think short stops rob a APA 7 giving the last 3??? A lot you know about pool.

Barbox pool is a joke. Kinda like miniature golf compared to big golf.

You coming to Super Billiards in April?
Bring cash and we can test you theory for awhile.
PM me.

If you read my post accurately, you would recognize that I don't bet. I suck. I'm a mediocre 5 in a league that is designed for lower level players.

If you are all about the action and so superior, why are you trolling APA players, looking to bet?

That having been said, as has already been pointed out in this thread, there are APA players who will gamble, making your whole thread pointless. Still more APA bashing.

Maybe I was thinking of 7's in 8 ball while you were thinking of 7's in 9 ball?

You simply said APA 7. Go tell a guy like Brian Parks that he can't compete in open tournaments because he is too far down on the food chain. LOL.

Our weekly tournament has BCA masters and grandmasters playing every week. I am pretty sure I know who the "players" are.

The topic here is APA 7 level talent and whether they got gamble getting what most consider is the world as a handicap.

. Big difference between them and BCA players who play grandmasters. I believe APA 9 ball ratings go to 9 before they get tossed for playing too strong. I expect BCA grandmaster can beat a APA 7 giving the last 3. It's what they don't know that let's them think they can win. Reality is they can't.

Who's bashing? I'm just telling you what I know from experience. If I was an APA 5 I'd ask for the 5 out and still gamble. Skill level has nothing to do with heart. You either have it or you don't.

I'm not gonna get into a debate about "heart". I don't gamble cuz I can't afford to, and I'm not ashamed of that. All the same, if people want to gamble, that's cool with me too. Using ones desire to gamble as a measure of "heart" is another discission entirely.

The point here is that you admit to not being an APA player, yet you wish to gamble with APA players. Why? What's your goal? If APA players are so horrible, aren't you just trying to rob people?

Why not set your sights higher, since you are obviously above this?

Not enough "heart"?

Ill still try you some break and the last 3 on the 7fter. I know you said you couldnt find action before but I could seriously get a line of at least 10 guys that would play with that spot in late April at the Riv. and yes they would all be card carrying APA. I have no doubt that you play jamup but that spot is pretty solid and for sure you would get action.

There are BCA grandmaster level players who play as APA 7's in 8 ball. Now I agree with you if you say APA 7 in 9 ball as that isn't even the top of the food chain in APA.

Come to Texas and you can match up with an APA 7 in 8 ball who will bet whatever you want if you give him the last 3 and breaks. You better be willing to post more than a couple sets.

Prop Bet

Dont let "Cashtroller" get under your skin. I guess he is a grandmaster or legitimate short stop himself. At the end of the day the prop bet is silly. Most of us know how to make a ball or two on the break so it would really be running 5 or 6 balls and then the 8 with ball in hand on a barbox? The 9 ball bett is rediculous too because of the breaks. Just the last three is possible if you are legitimate short stop +. The question is, how good are you?

If he is touring pro level then its very possible he could give up the last three and the breaks to 99.9% of APA. That 0.1% is the devil in the details.

It must be Shane!

Agreed. I watched Donnie give a rediculous spot to a 7/9 at Crooked Stick a few years ago but I would like to think that they wouldnt be wasting their time trolling APA players over having no heart

100%, if not, then the APA needs higher handicaps.
I forgot to say "what percentage of games", so 100% is impossible even for champions. I think it will take a pretty good league player to run the last eight balls 80% of the time at eight ball.

Touring pro level is something else entirely. Those guys give me this game I would try it!

This is what's crazy about pool. Somebody can offer you a game where you think you can't lose. Problem is that if you don't play strong enough to consistently beat the ghost on a big table you have little chance to hang with someone who can.

My game with barbox is simple. If they don't run out with all the breaks at least 30% they can't win. It sounds like a lock but for APA 7 it would lose to many good regional players...nowhere near touring pro level.

To the OP, I'm no world beater at all but an APA7 in 8 ball. (Don't play APA 9ball) I would expect if Im playing the ghost 100 times I'm winner 90+ times. Patterns are key, correct patterns are you're rarely taking a tough shot. And I say imagine because this is not challenging to anyone of higher skill so wouldn't even bother using it as a practice tool.

I don't understand CashPlayer. If you're good enough to give that spot to anyone & want to gamble, walk into ANY Poolhall in the world and say "Prove you're an APA player, and you got the last 3 & breaks on a bar box" REAL LOUD. I know in Colorado you'd get plenty of action. There's shortstops/semi pros around here and I'd play any of em with that spot & I repeat, I'm no world beater. So you can keep singing this song that nobody will gamble but people who have actually spent time in pool halls gambling (or even playing league) knows what this spot is and you could get all the action you wanted...in real life & not fantasy land.

When you go ask you semipro level player for this game don't be surprised when they say "flip it".

So you're a semi pro? Is that what you're insinuating? And I would never ask anyone for this spot, that'd be the definition of a nit. By all means keep the super tough guy I'm a badass routine going. And you might be semi pro and/or good enough to beat this spot, which has me pondering coming into a forum full of all levels of players and barking at people. You know there's an event going on right now with plenty of players you could play even for tons of cash. It's called Derby City

Best of luck

You said you would be a winner getting this spot right? So go out and ask one of these guys for it. What's the matter? You don't like money?

You think that the last 3 is a big spot? Not to give to an APA7. Try one of these guys. They will rob you son.
