The most hilarious thing I recognized here at AZ is whenever someone praises a pro to be unbeatable, it's like a "play" button for some guys to jump in and replay his old tape about "put him on a long race with Shane bla bla, I will put money on Shane bla bla". It's like a bunch of conservatism guys who feel the need to put American Pool on the top of the world anytime anywhere and the only argument they can hang on is "play shane in a long race". Btw, not a buzz from these guys during and after the CSI Invitational. Oh wait, I'm not sure, maybe some still mumured "play Shane in a race to 100" lol

IMHO, Another reason why they are so good is peer group effect. Most of them know each other well and play, train, spar together regularly. They learn from each other at same time try to outperform each other so there is always a rivalry which spurs them on.
I think Chang Yu Lung was asked last year during W9B about his rise to be elite player and he said one reason is he trains, spars with Chang Jung Lin and Ko Pin Yi regularly.

Of course the everyday practice is very important also, having all the best players around you will only motivates you to play better, that's an ideal environment.

We have the best female player in Vietnam here in Hanoi, she practices with male pros everyday and now she is quite untouchable among females.

Kim Ga Young also plays even with male players in money games.

Banares very close, but as far as I know, he spends more time gambling than pool, ppl regret for him because with such talent he could follow PHI bests, he chose to gamble instead. he is, anyway, a feared player but not the most feared.

that's what the Vietnamese pros tell me from their experience in last 2 year's attending events. they said Biado is the best when it comes to micro controlling cue ball.

I watched Chua live here in Vietnam and I don't think he is at Biado level yet.
