Chang Jung Lin shot a 100%, what is the cue?

They should have let him keep going, he was making it look easy.
What a display of talent, thanks for posting the link.

Thanks for posting the match. I haven't watched the final yet, but I will. Some comments on the Chang/Ko match (but not the cue):

If it is a semifinal match of the Taiwan pro championship, I wonder why it is played in a location with such limited seating for spectators. Is the sport unable to attract spectators in Taiwan?

It's interesting that one of the two disciplines is 14.1. What do they do if one player wins the 10-Ball and the other player wins the 14.1?

How often is such an event played? With such short races, could it be a frequent thing rather than a big once-a-year event?

Chang -- super play. He missed the position he wanted a number of times, but always recovered nicely.

Ko -- lost 2 lags, pushed once, played a bad safety (or was it a missed 1/9 combo? Safety, I'd guess.), and played a bad opening safety in the 14.1. Otherwise -- just sat there for over an hour.

Did the scorecard girl add or detract from the presentation of the event?

These events are usually played on a monthly basis, with one round robin of 3-4 players each week, all matches televised, almost always based on all around skill, with two sets decided by balls pulled from a box by each player. If each player wins a set, they play a one rack tie breaker decided by a ball pulled by the referee.

The ladies matches do not include 8-ball, for whatever reason. Not sure what usual prize is, but the ladies' winner from this past week won about $3200US

This is pro c'ship in Taiwan, thats they playing at a mall, they play round robin 3 per group, only top player qualifies, then knock-out til finals

They only play each Monday so the c'ship takes really long.

4 games were in: 8, 9, 10 ball and 14.1, they draw to decide what games to play and order of games, if score is 1-1 after 2 games then 3rd game race to 1 only.

Chang has been different to other Taiwanese top players, he has played with Carmeli, McDaniels and SW and other cues, not only SW.

As per Vietnamese pros assessment, Chang Jung Lin and Chang Yu Lung are the best Taiwanese players now, they are head and shoulder above the Ko's and surprisingly little Ko is widely regarded among the pros as a better and more consistent player than his big brother. This comes from events in Asia and money games they played there.

But there is 1 PHI name that is considered an absolute beast in money games now, most try to avoid him if without a spot, can u guys guess?

Thanks for the info about the events.

Nope, I don't know who is currently considered the top gambling beast from the Philippines.

Ignacio?

Orcollo. Or Jeffrey banares?

Orcullo no.

Banares very close, but as far as I know, he spends more time gambling than pool, ppl regret for him because with such talent he could follow PHI bests, he chose to gamble instead. he is, anyway, a feared player but not the most feared.

It's Carlo Biado guys.

Shot a 1000tpa for a race to 5.... This is why the Pro players should be playing to 11 minimum...... Dennis was shooting a 1000 7 games into the finals at the US Open... Seems like it didn't help since he had breaking issues....

Would love to have Shane match up in a race to 100 and sweat it over weekend... I have his number if you can come up with the cash and get the player lined up.... I don't think anyone is barred.... There is a cozy little arena in New Jersey that would work around Hopkins or I am sure JCIN can accomodate around one of the CSI events...

Not saying Shane is a lock I just want to see them go at it and may bet some on the side on Shane.......

Chris

honestly, to answer the question in the manner as not far fetched to me. It is very easy and common for most amature players to come out with questions like thatalong with the "what type of glove, what aiming system, maybe i should get an extension, who makes the best cue, what type of low deflection shaft should i get, etc" this is not new. I'm also wil to bet that over 60% of the people that read to topic thought the same thing.... another rookie looking for the magic end all

Just because he's curious what cue he uses doesn't mean he thinks it's gonna make him play better.

I played with a Chinese guy last weekend and I tried out his southwest, I couldn't make a ball with that high deflecting cue, then I I used my cue and I tortured him:)

Never said that's what was automatically implied by his question, but I guess this helps to prove my point about misinterpreting words, we all do it.

To answer someone else's question. These events that are held in mall usually are on ground floor with the spectators taking up the of all subsequent floors "sweet view if you ask me" so that why you don't see any on the table level.

Lastly. So I'm watching this again cause I didn't catch all of the 14.1 and caught something. Is it me of does that look like lingerie that Chang is wearing? You see this red lace type of waistband when he bends over to shoot.

Glad you came out top Randall

Take a look around 33:37. Do you think there are spectators watching from higher floors?

I was reading some of the posts in here about as to why ctran is asking about what cue he's using. I would say some very rude comments based nonsense.

ctran is an avid cue collector and cue lover and I would guess that's why he's asking.

Carry on..

Can you ask them to translate the commentary over in English

forget the commentary, i would just like to know which match is which. You don't know if it the finals or the first match you're watching. About the commentary just open another tab with Danny D commentating and mute the one you're watching. Odds are he's not talking about the match anyway so you won't have to worry about him calling different shots

thank you Mark, the question just popped out of my curiosity actually, your favorite player comes up with a different cue, I bet all of you would pop the question :)

Mark, I am growing in love with the Hunter, it's been my playing cue for almost a year and other cues have been locked and sealed away :)

I am not trying to create any argument here, the video is great pool and I just want to share, I admit the cue question is just a bonus for me. I am not trying to put anyone up against Shane or anyone. I love Shane also but I have my own opinion on every pro's game. They are all pool gods.

cheers,
Cuong.
