Chicago!

I am in Chicago for the week, and was wondering if anyone had recommendations on rooms to hit. I am a long way from home. Are there classics that must be checked out when in town? Preferrably close to downtown...but open to wherever.

Chris's for sure. They have a daytime special of $10.00 from 9am till 5 pm then it is $4.25 per hour. It is also BYOB which is pretty popular with the young crowd at night. There's a liquor store about 300 feet from the front door. Seven heated carom tables one 6 x 12 snooker table, two new diamond tables with blue label rails, and several other gold crowns. All the pool tables are 4 1/2 x 9. That is just the front room then the other two rooms have new diamond bar boxes and plenty more gold crowns. Wednesday night non handicapped tournament is fun for the $15 entry.

Marie's Golden Cue may also be an option in town, a little more pricy for table time but great place also and has BYOB as well.

Red Shoes in Alsip is a great place as well, they have a full bar and full kitchen something neither of the other places has.

Pressure Billiards down near Clark Street may also be an option, I have met Scott Lee there before. Nice place with big friendly pockets.

Send a pm maybe I will meet you and hit some around.

Thank you for the recommendations. I braved the snowstorm and gridlock and went out to Chris's. I had a great time. Played like crap, but had a good time. (Maybe I can try to blame my play on using a house queue...but doubt that is accurate...)

I am jealous of those who play there. It must be fabulous having a vibrant hall full of players.

I'm sorry, but we have to fire you from the forums for that. Queue is a line you wait in, cue is what you find at a pool hall.

We'll let you you logon on again if you accept 30 lashes with a Meucci shaft or if you can figure out how to use an aiming system with spin.

City Pool Hall is real close to downtown and they have pretty good food. Joey Gold hangs out there quite a bit.

Avoid City Pool Hall tonight due to the in house leagues. Tomorrow should be easy to get a table.

You should have just asked Buddy to use his new Ed Young!!!

Ouch. My apologies to the forum. I am a man of many excuses. I'll blame that on being hung over and tired!

Perhaps-

City Pool Hall on Hubbard and Des Plaines would work for you.

You'll both be surprised to hear he has ordered another new one!!! The next one will have more bling than the current one. I did chat with Ed at the Gentile / Smith event which was fun. He IS a character...

My best to you both!
