Practice table size - 7 footer or 9 footer???

I would buy what you play on. Bank, kicks and even jumping can be different between tables. Hope you don't play on a bunch of Valleys then have to play on Diamonds come playoffs and tourneys. I don't know which is best. I know it can be difficult going from one to the other. I think it's easier going from a diamond to a Valley..

MUCH EASIER :) Going from a Valley to a Diamond is gonna hurt a little at first ;) You can't "slop" in any shots on a Diamond, thus the better shooter has a huge advantage !!

Aren't the valley pockets smaller then a diamond? Or at least the side pockets?

I've yet to see a Valley with tighter pockets than a Diamond. But more than that the Diamond has a deeper pocket shelf.

PS: Buy a table with Ball Return.
No matter what anyone else says it SUCKS walking around the table plucking balls out of the pockets

I used to think that too but it depends. If you tend to have back issues bending down to retrieve balls out of the return every rack can also be a pain.

The reason I ask this question is that I am house hunting and finding many more places that can fit a 7 footer vs a 9 foot.

That's why my wife and I looked at 57 different houses before we found the one we bought. There's JUST enough room for a 9 footer in the basement.

Good luck in your search!
