What's your Pool Nickname?

Rick The Hick...Rick wore grunge flannel, denim and leather exclusively before anyone had ever heard of grunge music. Such a regular at denizen at Executive Billiards, one night when had the flu and was too sick to come in, he actually "called in sick" so we wouldn't worry about him when he didn't show up. True story.

Ok, now that's funny!:p

The nickname I was given was "The Shocker".

That's because when I play I typically make about two good shots and the third one goes to sh#t.

I'm hoping to grow out of that nickname soon.

"Buzzard" is a motorcycle nickname, due to my propensity toward taking out various birds at high speed, in a bloody, feathery mess. Had it for twenty years.

Then I retired to Virginia from North Jersey. We were considered "different" among the locals. I was the guy from Jersey with three motorcycles in the garage. Very strange, everyone was watching the Sopranos at the time. So, at a social gathering, much to my wife's embarrassment, I blurted out, speaking at high speed, " Hey, how ya doin' I'm Jimmy 'da Vig". It stuck. I even had to explain what a vig was.

My pool game sucks, I don't deserve a name.

I live in Denver but am from New Jersey originally (I escaped)and from time to time I use N.J. slang and get blank looks from the natives.

LOL, this one got me laughing, I'm glad no-one else is in the room now with me at work 'cause this would be tough to explain.

Use to be the "Chicago Kid" for a little while after I won the 17 & under tournament in Chicago many decades ago. But I grew up with the following fellars in my dads poolroom;

Tall Al
Bugs
Smartie Artie
Jerry the Barber
Sunshine (real good banker)
Cab Driver Joe
The Gunner
Race Track Phil
TommyGun
Cannonball (great banker and cool dude)
Lefty (same guy as above but he was good enough to need 2 names)
Watusi Slim
Jimbo
Reno

We have a few guys around here with nicknames:
Jaybird, Red Rifle, Kentucky Bob, Kid Chris, Kid Carl, there's more that I can't think of. I've heard Eddie Brown called Downtown Eddie Brown a few times, but don't think he goes by that. I often hear people call Richie Richeson, Richie Rich.

When I was 17-18 going in the pool halls, people would refer to me as Ponchatoula Dave when I played one hole. No one could pronounce or remember my last name. I never went by the name, but that's what they called me.

I've heard Eddie called low down eddie brown...

I accidentally called Jamie red rocket, and everybody laughed...

While I was there I was called Kalifornia Kevin. Joey A gave me that one.

Jaden

Andrew aka ATM is very nice.
Did he seem to talk a little loud?

Yeah but I talk a little loud too so it worked.

He's a fun guy to talk to and a good shooter. One of the more entertaining personalities I have met in pool so far. He should probably avoid dancing on bars though. ;-)

My pool nickname is actually spimp pronounced as one word not s-pimp. It is a cross between my last name Spina and pimp. There is usually a bad connotation with the word pimp, however my nickname is pretty harmless. Back in the day the guy who first introduced me to playing pool was shooting with me one night at our local nickel arcade which had pool tables in it. I was a regular there so I was able to meet a lot of people.

It just happened that on this day there were several girls that were friends with me showed up (not at once but spaced out). He started to get jealous and said "Spina you are a pimp, fk it I'll just call you spimp"! It had a great ring to it and so my friends started calling me that. I was 17, almost 18 at the time and it had nothing to do with being an actual pimp, but more of a harmless cross between that and my last name. To this day some of my best friends and even some co workers call me that :)

haha, nah at work today. I really don't watch talk shows like that even when one of my ladies makes an appearance. They both are due for a new movie (her and Eliza), but she has been busy with being a mother so I guess that gets her a pass for now sigh.
