Something you may want to practice.. Set up a slightly angled shot.
Think about where your speed and angle will send the CB. Place
a poker chip on the table. Pocket the OB, and send the CB to a rail
and try to stop the CB within 3 balls of the chip, on the correct side.

Many newer players use too much side spin if trying for position, and
don't realize the CB can pickup or lose spin off the OB, or off the rails.
Trying to come close to the poker chip (or coin) will help position play.
