Current version of Moori tips?

I'm curious what everyone thinks of the current version of the Morri tip?

I have been using Moori tips almost since they were first introduced and until the past few years I have really had great luck with them. I have tried other layered tips on occasion (Kamui, Black King, etc) but have always went back to Moori. Over the past few years I have really not been impressed with the quality of the Moori. I have noticed they do not hold chalk as well and I have had trouble with the layers delaminating. I have mis-cued more than I want to admit and generally I feel my game has suffered as a result.

What does everyone else think of them? I'm referring to the current version that comes in the bubble packaging.

in my experience... in the past a "bad" moori was the rarity in a box of good'uns. Now it seems that its takes 2 or 3 tips to get to a good one. I've ended up with the G2 as my favorite Moori substitute. They play pretty much the same as Moori's, and hold their shape very well. They're basically everything the Moori's used to be. IMO

Agreed, G2's are great! They are so good that I
sound like a broken record for posting that very
opinion here in the main forum, many, many times.

Agreed on the G2's, I find them to play like the original Moori's, amazing tips

Just got a Moori medium put on recently, about 4 weeks ago, and it's mushrooming pretty bad. I'm having to constantly shape the tip to keep it rounded, so it's wearing down very fast. Won't make this mistake again.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm glad it's not just me! I thought I was going crazy. Lol!

How do the hardness rate compared to the Moori? Is a Medium like the old Moori medium or do they differ?

I think they're pretty close. Im playing with a G2 medium now and it's about the same as the Moori mediums I played for years... Im on my 2nd G2 now cause I managed to knock a chuck out the 1st one on a bad miscue. Too bad too cause it was getting right to the sweet spot for me.

The g2 is a great tip and my choice in layered tips if you have to go that way but it's higher on hardness and COR than the original moori medium in medium form and lower on both in soft form.... I think so much time has passed that noone really remembers the original mediums and the hit has more or less became a thing of mythical properties.....

Was a big discussion awhile back with some saying bubble packs are the real deal on the Moori atm and some saying the tube packaging is right...

Would be nice to sort it out but there are so many counterfeits of almost every named tip that it's hard to get to the bottom of things....

I think that is true for the most part. Unfortunately I have an original Moori on a 20 year old shaft with a Westinghouse micarta ferrule so I've been a little spoiled. Also unfortunately I'm not crazy about the way that shaft plays on my current cue. It makes the cue a little heavier and brings the balance a little more forward than I would like.

So it looks like I will be trying out the G2 in medium. Thanks for the input everyone!
