Official Super Billiards Expo Thread

Seems like the 10 ball pro event was ahead of schedule tonight. Went in at 930 to go watch SVB shoot according to schedule and the match was long over. Did get to see the 5th-9th place matches though if I'm doing my math right lol.

Is the Expo worth going to for a day if you aren't planning on playing or buying a custom cue? Is there enough to occupy a person for 6-8 hours or is it mostly geared towards players and some custom cue makers??
I live about 20 minutes away and have gone to VF and Oaks for the past several years to check out the custom cues, other gear, watch some play, and just take in the event. I'd stay for about two hours. For $10-12, I thought it was reasonable. I stopped by yesterday, but was surprised to see daily admission had gone up to $20. I wasn't planning on buying anything and thought $20 was a bit much just to knock around for a couple of hours. I had other stuff to do in the area anyway, so I just left. Unless I'm going to play or spend enough on a cue for the admission to be worth it, I guess my SBE days are done.

Orcollo beat Shane for hill then Shaw beat Shane. Dennis playing Shaw in finals. Dechaine finished 4th & Shane got 3rd.

They made it free to watch the pro's so it went from 10.00 to 20.00. The pro's used to be 8.00 a session to watch.

Is it really over???? (Well the 1 pocket final may still be going lol)
I did enjoy seeing some of the well known Pros play 1P at times.
I had my sticker on all weekend but only met 1 AZer. That was Chris (Renfro) at the Outsville booth.
The Action room really cleared out today. Maybe next year we can schedule some challenge matches for Sun. and meet up.

Wanted Shaw in the final but the Pool Gods must have took a nap.
He looked REAL surprised in the Semi when Shane missed while running out what would've been the clincher.
But then Shaw got to the hill in the Final and couldn't close the deal.
Congrats to Orcullo.

I was there from 3:30 PM Wednesday until 2:00 PM today. Whew!
I was in such a daze that I didn't think to get an AZB name patch.

I did meet (Finally!) sjm!
I also met Hang-the-9!

Does anyone know what happened in the 1P? They never filled out the final 8 single elim bracket at all.

I wanted to see svb and dechaine play billiards but got caught up in other stuff :(. I heard there both pretty good at it.

I see. Thanks for the explanation. Actually, $20 would have been worth it if I had more than a couple of hours to watch the pros play. I'll keep it in mind for next year.

OK so my wife went to SBE with me.
Until 3 am Sat morn. and then all day / evening Sun until 10 ball was done.
She also just sweated the Rhea match with me. I gotta give her some props!

I was there thurs and sat, great time both days, bought a jb case each day and looking into a 3rd already lol. Only regret I had was not looking at steve dunkel's cues. Hopefully next year and maybe I'll purchase one then too.
