Georgous cue Mike. I maybe mistaken, but I believe the late John Wright had this cue at one time. I have seen it before and I believe it was in one of his photos.

I dont think it is the same cue. This is cue has only exchange hands once. I purchased it from the original owner.

Mike, you are right it is not the same cue. I found the photo dated September of 1990 that the late John Wright mailed me, along with the price. The only difference is the cue in John's photo does not have the ebony dots on the points as your cue does. It is listed as 21 1/2 ounces. If you want the photo I would be happy to mail it to you, since I have no need for it. Best Regards, Hal

It's exciting when these rare gems surface...
Thanks for taking the time to share your magnificent cue..

Just so you know, I have been told that John Wright took cues and had other cue makers "enhance" them with inlays and other items.

While if anyone did that today, they would looked like they were crazy. But back then, cues were relatively cheap, and if someone wanted more inlays they didn't necessarily take them back to the original maker.

I have seen some very "high end" cues that were modified. When I see someone with an old time cues and they are very proud of it, I don't even mention it, as what purpose does it serve?

Just a word to the wise.

Ken

Ken, I did not know that and respect your opinion. However, Wright was always a straight-shooter around me, especially when it came to the high-ends cues. Best Regards, Hal

Thank you

That is a great find. I think the finish on this one is bad enough that I would go against my normal policy on a cue of that speed and refinish it.
