shaft taper question

The shaft starts at .522, increases .05 for the 1st 10 inches, .10 for the next 4 inches and .20 from 14" to joint. what type of taper is this?

A pretty stiff taper, but not horrible. I know a few very good players that like them stiffer.
If it plays good, there's no issue!
I been seeing a little bit of a trend towards bigger tip diameters.

You are saying it increases 50/1000 and then 100/1000, correct? I wanted to make sure you had that stiff of a taper. It might be nice for caroms or breaking.
 
Yup. It's a jump/break/player. It does all three quite well.

.20 from 14" to the joint.

Super stiff with a 11/16" ferrule. The shaft is 4.1oz and tapped for 3/8x10.

I was looking to eventually having a shaft made for my main cue, same taper, but for a joint of .825.

Adding your numbers, I get .872" joint size.
.522, .572, .672, .872.
