Pool Halls in North Chicago

Robertom and Bdorman both offer fine suggestions, but as someone who has cycled the lakefront bike trail many times, I'll have to opine that the best view is from North ave. beach...

Is the basketball court still there? I spent many summers playing there in pickup games. That, and Navy Pier had fierce comp. Pros even stopped by and played occasionally.

Best,
Mike

I stay away from Navy Pier. I'm not fond of crowds. I only ride on week days when the trail is less crowded; but, the pier is ALWAYS crowded. It's gone through all kinds of renovations, starting in the early 90's. These days it's a fancy ass place filled with shops, entertainment venues, a giant ferris wheel, and various other amusement attractions, etc. It's the number one tourist attraction in Illinois

I'm 55. I remember walking through it several times as a young kid with my dad. It was a beat up old place, but there was always something interesting to see. I don't think I was ever there after age 10. So; It wouldn't surprise me one bit to learn there were big time pickup basketball games happening....interesting! Take a look at some google images of what it looks like today.

I do, in fact, ride by a court in the Lincoln park area where it looks like a very competitive brand of ball is being played.

Yeah, they will. Once upon a time they didn't, but that changed a few years ago. It was mostly a stunt even then.

And it's Superdawg.

Might have been a few years since I been there.. .not a stunt, just something they didn't believe they needed. So few folks order a dawg with ketchup. But with a new generation that has hit, and it appears these "phsyco's" put ketchup on everything ;)

Definitely Shooters. It's an easy drive from Vernon Hills. Just get to Rte 45 and go north til you hit 120. It's right in the strip mall by Walgreens.

Someone mentioned Rack Em Up in Buffalo Grove. I would say avoid it if you want quality equipment.

LOL. Doesn't matter either way. I hate ketchup on my hot dog.

come visit us at shooters. cant beat the 9 foot diamonds. You should also visit chris' though too.

I will be heading over to Shooter's in a minute. Should be there by about 7 o'clock. I will probably be there for a couple of hours. Come by if you want to shoot a game or two.

Anyone else in the area that wants to drop by is also welcome to hit me up. I will be wearing tan slacks and a greenish gray button up shirt.

Hope to see you there.

sh1t, that's all I needed to know playa. I can take a lot of things, play with crooks, liars, whores, drunks, but I'm not stooping to anyone that puts ketchup on a dog ;)
