shafts
I’ve been giving some thought to the changes in shaft construction that have come up over the past decade and was thinking about what I would like to see next. If you could improve your shaft in any of the following ways, what would your top 3 be?
Eliminate warping
Improve accuracy at high speeds (with lots of spin

Improve accuracy at low speeds (with lots of spin

Improve ding resistance
Eliminate Chalk staining
Improve hit consistency
Personally I believe allot of things done to a shaft is just wrong.
Warping,
I don't really see a problem there, your just not buying the shafts from the right cue maker...
I can roll out 15 shafts that I have had for 7 or 8 years and they all roll close to perfectly being straight. ( All Wood Moves ) it is a fluke to see perfectly straight wooden shafts.
Climate has everything to do with it ....
Improve accuracy at high speeds (with lots of spin

Improve accuracy at low speeds (with lots of spin
I think a good solid hit without vibrating harmonics is the best.
Consist hit is the best hit, I think everyone should have the spine of the shaft wood up.
Improve ding resistance
Its already being done, every shaft that has a clear finish is chalk resistance and ding resistance .
Only problem is shaft that have smooth resin or clear finish over the maple wood
has allot of skin drag when stroking the cue.
Waxing and maintaining you shaft is the best in my opinion but some players don't clean or wax the shafts on there cues and are happy with they way they are.
There is hundreds of technics of shaft maintenance.
The owner not being care less with there cues is the problem.
Cant make pool cues bullet proof or pissed off wife proof when she drives over you cue case as she is leaving you...
