Thank you for the resource Joe! I have a copy of that page taped to my bench. That's what prompted my question asking if a lead screw was the same as a cross slide screw.

Yep that's the same thing. Part 100-17. Now it apears that you have the old style cross slide. So some of the parts on that list won't be the same as yours

Looking at the handwheels in the pics that have been shown,it sure looks like that machine has seen some out of the ordinary "action",like it was dropped,crashed,etc. Tommy D.

Hey Tommy D, it looks like it was dropped and the handle is bent and there is some wobble as a result. I'd prefer to replace the carriage and cross slide since the lathe is 8 years old. Good eye Tommy!

Received and installed a new dial assembly and cross slide nut today and the lathe works as good as new! Problem has been resolved. Everyone's input and patience while helping me is truly appreciated.
