LD shaft help

I have been using a Z2 for the last couple of years. I recently got a Katana 2 and that shaft played very well. Then I got a Z2 tuned and I really liked it. I'm wanting to try something else now, I am getting a new cue and I need to send him some partials so I was thinking about trying the Tiger Pro-X or The Jacoby Edge Hybrid and I wanted to see if you guys have tried them and your thought's on the 2. Lots of guys tell me if I tried the Tiger I would never want to shot with anything else but I haven't got to try one yet. But the Jacoby Edge Hybrid sounds like it might be good as well.
Thanks for all your thoughts

Go for mezz one piece maple LD shaft.

Hybrid pro 2 and wx700 really safe choices for a solid stiff hit minus the hollow feel of predator :)

But mezz does not sell partial but it comes in a variety of joints so anycuemaker will be able to make it flush w their butt.

If you have found a shaft that you like already, z2 in your case it seems, maybe you should stick to it? Have one made for your new cue atleast so you go back to it if you want.
If If you want to try something else then the Tiger would be my choice. Lots of good words about it, havent tried it personally though

Yeah I want to try the Mezz Hybrid Pro 2. I asked the board looking for one and I keep getting people trying to get me to buy their Alphas I just wish the Mezz came in a smaller shaft size.

I have Z2"s that fit just about every thread size so I always have them to go back to. I just want to try something new. Have you played with the Tiger before?

As I already said in my post, I havent hit a ball with a Tiger, but im interested in trying one based on online reviews etc :)
Mezz shafts are good, atleast the wx700 is a pretty "hard" hitting shaft, it allows the player to feel more of the vibrations of hitting a ball. Wether or not this is a good thing is purely up to the player. I prefer the muted feel of a predator over the mezz, but i would gladly play with either one, and i own both of them too for that reason.

I played with a 314-2 for many years and recently picked up a predator cue with a vantage shaft and LOVE it. It hits very well and has almost the same deflection regardless of how hard you hit.

I would recommend at least taking a couple shots with one to see what you think.

Cezar, I'd agree with you in terms of the Mezz. I've hit them all except the 900 shaft and likely will never hit one because i prefer a 12.5-12.75 diameter tip. The alpha shaft by Mezz is great, it is around the 12.8mm range. I currently play with a wd700 which is probably my favourite. I switched from a 314-2 which I liked but the wd700 hits with low deflection yet it feels much more solid than a 314-2. The alpha shaft by Mezz hits great in my opinion, a bit stiffer than the 700 but still a great shaft, the cost is what pushes many buyers away but sometimes ya gotta let your hair down and make it rain. :)

deflection has nothing to do with shot speed, even in a house cue

I vote fot mezz HP2 also, its a very good shaft, I can't wait to try the new Ex Pro mezz shaft, but i got like 3 HP2 shafts already that i love, whats your joint? Maybe i can give you one

eurotroll incorrect

eurotroll - depends on how you define it. You are either incorrect or trying to be a dick for no reason. A firmer hit with most shafts (including LD) will result in the cueball striking further away from the point of aim when compared to a softer hit.

the amount of deflection is the same but the point of cueball impact is further away from where you are aiming since the cubeall will not have swerved back as much on a firmer shot. This difference is significantly less with the vantage shaft.

I have played some amazing spin shots when trying the Tiger Pro X during SBE, don't know if I just happened to channel some special spin spirit or if the shaft was just very good. I know the Z (first gen) was one of the few Predator shafts I liked the hit of, have not tried the Jacoby or the Katana.

The Tiger did have a good hit feel and like I said, I have some very strong shots for my normal playing ability with that shaft.

I can definitely recommend the Tiger X-Pro. I was playing with a Jacoby Hybrid Edge when I got a Tiger X-Pro in a trade deal. Got it just to try an 11.75mm shaft as I'd never had one before. The Tiger has a really great feel to it, very firm hitting, and I love the stock Onyx tip (I hate Everest tips and had a Wizard put on my Jacoby Hybrid Edge). I've tried Jacoby and OB as well and think they're both very nice shafts, but I'm using the Tiger now and loving it.

I haven't tried one yet but I'm hearing good things about CDX shafts if you like a nice solid hit. I like my i3 but the short ferrule took some getting used to.

Keep changing, I'm sure something better is out there, and when you find it, you'll be happy for about twelve minutes because, surely, there is something better out there.

Your equipment is not what is keeping you from playing well.

Not trying to be a dick  . Are you saying then that the swerve with the Vantage is greater? As I understand, swerve is created because of side english, combined with a slight cue elevation. Which one of the two factors is influenced by the shaft? I think none of them...
You can modify squirt in a shaft lowering the effective endmass, but not swerve, as it only depends on side spin and cue elevation.
Perhaps it can be just the tip hardness, as it changes the linear/angular velocities ratio.

I'm not a scientist but I can get more swerve with a shaft that is more flexible in the forward portion. I think the taper and taper point of a cue can influence the amount of swerve.
