Linen wrap question

I have seen this and it does look difficult, but if you can do a really good Irish linen and want to do this I think you can figure out how to do it. Yes I would drill two holes. That is the easy part. Running the two pieces without twisting them over each other would be the harder part.
 
I had Ryan Theewen do a double stranded linen wrap before, it's a nice look and feels great

When you drill the two holes would they be side by side or back to back?

I would put them 180° apart. Both at the edge of the wrap groove.

This way you get to stagger the starting and ending points.

It looks to me from the picture that the first three passes are white only, then black was added.
