With another person, in fact, I photographed and videotaped much of it but I won't get around to downloading it for a while.

Good thing I left the ROPE at home.

No guns needed either, although, I could say, with todays climate, I may need to soon.

WHY?

We have Wolves gathering in packs here in Oregon, we have always had Bears and Cougars but now the Wolves are back and they are protected.

The day started great, strapped on our hiking boots and set out past Marion Lake up towards Three Fingered Jack, (one for each of the Three Sisters) when the trail was blocked from a fire a few years back.

We ended up with 11.6 miles, my Son and I had a great time, you try keeping up with a 20 year old in great shape.


If I had brought the ROPE, I may have drove to the other trailhead and headed up to this point here, the two guys in the next video are CRAZY when they take it outside, they should be roped at times but they made it out alive.

I've been there/done that, but was much younger than my current 71 years when I climbed Three fingered Jack & Mount Washington.

You probably recognize the road entrance in my Avatar...;)

Thanks so much for the kind words, that does look like the road at Mt Washington, that's a nice little road and a great lake at the bottom of the Mountain.

Close...the west entrance of the old McKenzie...goes past the North Sister. The crookedest road in Oregon. Originally blasted out of the lava flows as a route between Sisters and the Valley during the horse & wagon days. Turns are so tight, tractor-trailer rigs are forbidden because they simply can't negotiate them.

There's another little lake to the east of the skyline trail not much below the timberline on the east slope of the north ridge of Washington..caught some nice brook trout there. Kind of a secret spot at the time. But this was in the days before GPS...had to know topo map & compass navigation to find it. Probably a freeway trail leading to it these days. No go pro cameras then either..but I have some grainy old B&W 35mm negative to prove I was there.

It's really nice to know that younger generations are enjoying the same area. :)
